Conceptual Rigor Mortis

Theory & Psychology, 1991
In his paper entitled `Conceptual rigor versus practical impact', Chow (1991) argued against Rosnow and Rosenthal's (1989) recent call for caution and sophistication in the evaluation of the results of empirical studies. Chow also holds forth upon the purported failings of meta-analysis as a form of integrating research findings that is antithetical to

“Rigor Mortis” in a Live Patient

American Journal of Forensic Medicine & Pathology, 2010
Rigor mortis is conventionally a postmortem change. Its occurrence suggests that death has occurred at least a few hours ago. The authors report a case of "Rigor Mortis" in a live patient after cardiac surgery. Rigor mortis in beef

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1954
AbstractA study has been made of the onset of rigor mortis in the longissimus dorsi muscle of the ox, thus extending similar observations previously made on rabbit muscle. The changes in pH and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) content accompanying the physical manifestations of rigor are described.

Observations on rigor mortis in whale muscle

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1952
Abstract The onset of rigor mortis in baleen whale muscle has been investigated. A temporary, though sometimes prolonged, arrest of lactic acid formation may precede the physical change. The latter is accompanied by a considerable decrease in fluid retention and a relatively rapid transition to a state of wetness.
