Modeling the rim appearance

[1990] Proceedings Third International Conference on Computer Vision, 2002
A viewer-centered approach is presented to modeling the geometry of the visible occluding contour of solid 3-D shape. The rim appearance representation models the exact appearance of the occluding contour formed by the edges of a polyhedron. An algorithm is presented for constructing the rim appearance representation. Bounds on space and time are given,

Infraorbital Rim Augmentation

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2001
In patients with recessive infraorbital rims, alloplastic augmentation of the infraorbital rims makes the eyes appear less prominent and improves appearance. Ten patients (seven women and three men) with an average age of 30 years (range, 23 to 45 years) underwent augmentation of the infraorbital rim with alloplastic implants over a 9-year period. With

Rim Stress of Thin-rimmed Gear

Advanced engineering, 2006
The paper deals with the analysis of thin-rimmed gear stress induced by a load applied to a gear tooth. The stress of spur external gear is determined by means of three-dimensional finite element method and by use of the developed pinion-wheel numerical model.

Corneal Rim Cultures

Cornea, 1987
We performed a retrospective analysis of 291 consecutive scleral rim cultures, taken at the time of corneal transplantation, from 1981 to 1986. There were 82 positive cultures (39%), and the most common pathogen was Staphylococcus epidermidis, with 24 positive cultures (30%). Ten of these (42%) were resistant to gentamycin.

Alar Rim Deformities

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2001
Alar disharmony is one of the most common abnormalities observed after a rhinoplasty. This article describes three classes in addition to Gunter's classifications of alar/columella deformities, which include concave ala, convex ala caused by convex lateral crus, and convex ala caused by thick alar tissues. These deformities are best visualized from the

Alar Rim Deformities

Clinics in Plastic Surgery, 2016
The alar rim plays an important role in nasal harmony. Alar rim flaws are common following the initial rhinoplasty. Classification of the deformities helps with diagnosis and successful surgical correction. Diagnosis of the deformity requires careful observation of the computerized or life-sized photographs.

AN EXAMPLE OF A RIM-SCATTERED LOCALLY CONNECTED CONTINUUM THAT IS NOT RIM-COUNTABLE

Russian Academy of Sciences. Sbornik Mathematics, 1995
A space is said to be scattered if each non-empty subset has an isolated point in its relative topology. It is well-known that each countable and compact space is scattered and metrizable, and each scattered, metrizable and compact space is countable.

DIMENSIONS - WHEELS FOR DEMOUNTABLE RIMS, DEMOUNTABLE RIMS, AND RIM SPACERS - COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

2017
<div class="section abstract"> <div class="htmlview paragraph">This SAE Recommended Practice establishes dimensions for wheels for demountable rims, demountable rims, and rim spacers. The dimensions given are those necessary to maintain serviceability and interchangeability of the demountable rim, rim spacer, and wheel for demountable rim.

Rim Stress Analysis of Thin-Rimmed Gear

Key Engineering Materials, 2007
The research into the stress state of gear rim has been based on the developed model of pinion-wheel system and the finite element application. For a spur gear structure of middle web position, the assumption of load distribution in the contact area that reflects, first of all, the tooth support deformation, has been not required for the imposed ...

Neuroretinal Rim Area

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1984
To the Editor. —Among the plethora of reports of cup-disc parameters associated with glaucomatous optic nerve damage, the recent article by Balazsi et al 1 in the JulyArchivesstands out as a carefully conducted study documenting the potential importance of an intrinsically sensible variable.
