A technique for the lowering of the alar rim is presented. The indications for this technique, originally presented by Meyer and Kesselring, have been expanded to other related nasal deformities, including the high-arched nostril, the asymmetrical nostril, the Mestizo nose, and the hanging columella, in which the surgeon feels that total nasal length ...

Rim Stress of Thin-rimmed Gear
Advanced engineering, 2006The paper deals with the analysis of thin-rimmed gear stress induced by a load applied to a gear tooth. The stress of spur external gear is determined by means of three-dimensional finite element method and by use of the developed pinion-wheel numerical model.

To the Editor. —Among the plethora of reports of cup-disc parameters associated with glaucomatous optic nerve damage, the recent article by Balazsi et al 1 in the JulyArchivesstands out as a carefully conducted study documenting the potential importance of an intrinsically sensible variable.

A theoretical investigation of a sloped-rim open resonator is described, which neglects the diffraction effects due to the finiteness of the rim size. A comparison is made with the results obtained by numerically solving the integral equation associated with the open resonator. The agreement is good, so the theory developed here can be used for a first

Rim Stress Analysis of Thin-Rimmed Gear
Key Engineering Materials, 2007The research into the stress state of gear rim has been based on the developed model of pinion-wheel system and the finite element application. For a spur gear structure of middle web position, the assumption of load distribution in the contact area that reflects, first of all, the tooth support deformation, has been not required for the imposed ...

Cortical Rim Sign and Reversed Rim Sign
2014After IV enhancement, zones of renal infarction look like wedge-shaped low-density areas. Capsule and subcapsular kidney parenchyma is enhanced in many (but not all) patients due to collateral blood supply that forms the “cortical rim” sign (↑).

DIMENSIONS - WHEELS FOR DEMOUNTABLE RIMS, DEMOUNTABLE RIMS, AND RIM SPACERS - COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
2017<div class="section abstract"> <div class="htmlview paragraph">This SAE Recommended Practice establishes dimensions for wheels for demountable rims, demountable rims, and rim spacers. The dimensions given are those necessary to maintain serviceability and interchangeability of the demountable rim, rim spacer, and wheel for demountable rim.
