Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.This work introduces a novel Hybrid Retinal Implant (HRI), composed of a high‐density electrode array integrated with glutamatergic neurons to overcome key limitations of current retinal prostheses. The significant reduction of activation threshold and of electrode cross‐talk yields in an improved spatial resolution.

Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings, 2005 A 40-year-old man presented with a violaceous-rimmed ulceration on his inner thigh. He complained of crusting and drainage, but the lesion was otherwise asymptomatic. It began as a pimple, expanded into a small erosion, and then progressed to an ulceration (Figure).
