High- microwave ring oscillators

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2000
Abstract YBa2Cu3O7−δ(YBCO) superconducting ring resonators with YBCO ground plane were fabricated. The resonators exhibit a high quality (Q>104) at 16 K, indicating high potential for applications. In addition, from the analyses of the surface resistance Rs(T) and reactance Xs(T), it was found that the derived London penetration depth λ(T)−λ(5 ...

Ring Oscillator with Improved Design

2021 34th International Conference on VLSI Design and 2021 20th International Conference on Embedded Systems (VLSID), 2021
This paper presents a design of stacked inverter-based ring oscillator. The proposed work includes an approach to minimize variations across all the Process Voltage Temperature (PVT) conditions with a power consumption of 27.36 µ W at 25° C. The design consists of trim bits to decrease the frequency variations across process corners.

A fast CMOS voltage-controlled ring oscillator

Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002
A voltage-controlled ring oscillator based on variable capacitive loading is described. A prototype, fabricated in a 1.2 /spl mu/m CMOS-technology, has been tested. The results showed that it is capable to operate at a maximum frequency of 560 MHz. This design operates at 92% of the speed achievable by the same ring oscillator, but where the speed ...

Oscillators using ring magnets

Physics Education, 1970
The strong dependence of the forces between magnets on their separation or orientation can be used to demonstrate some of the properties of oscillating systems. Ring magnets are very suitable for this type of demonstration because it is rather easy to arrange the mechanical constraint necessary to give a stable equilibrium position about which the ...

Jitter in ring oscillators

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1997
Jitter in ring oscillators is theoretically described, and predictions are experimentally verified. A design procedure is developed in the context of time domain measures of oscillator jitter in a phase-locked loop (PLL). A major contribution is the identification of a design figure of merit /spl kappa/, which is independent of the number of stages in ...

Ring and coupled ring oscillator in subthreshold region

2014 International Conference on Signal Propagation and Computer Technology (ICSPCT 2014), 2014
In this paper, the implementation of oscillators in the subthreshold region is proposed. The ring and coupled ring oscillators are implemented. The technique of swapped body biasing technique has been introduced for coupled ring oscillators to enhance their performance.

SOI voltage controlled ring oscillator

Digest of Papers. 2004 Topical Meeting onSilicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems, 2004., 2005
Seven-stage and twenty-one-stage voltage controlled inverter-chain ring oscillators are fabricated in SOI 0.5 /spl mu/m technology. It is found that the oscillation is very robust to the variation of power supply voltage, and there is no significant change of timing jitter.

High-performance combined ring oscillators

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2020
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate a more robust ring oscillator. Less sensitivity to power supply variations is a target. This is important since low-quality ring oscillators could be exploited in numerous systems to reduce die costs. Design/methodology/approach The method in this work is large signal analysis.

Soliton Raman fibre-ring oscillators

Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1988
Results are presented on the operation and optimization of soliton Raman fibre-ring lasers using a c.w. mode-locked Nd-YAG laser at 1.32μm as the source of 100 ps pump pulses. Various lengths of standard single-mode silica fibre were used, and tunable pulses as short as 100 fs generated.

Rotating ring fluxon oscillators: Gyroscopic effects

Applied Physics Letters, 1986
We suggest the existence of gyroscopic effects in ring fluxon oscillators, which, due to the extremely narrow oscillation linewidths, could therefore be used as sensitive rotation rate sensors. For the sake of comparison we also improve on previous analytical determinations of the thermal background intensity for oscillating Josephson lines.
