Soliton Raman fibre-ring oscillators
Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1988Results are presented on the operation and optimization of soliton Raman fibre-ring lasers using a c.w. mode-locked Nd-YAG laser at 1.32μm as the source of 100 ps pump pulses. Various lengths of standard single-mode silica fibre were used, and tunable pulses as short as 100 fs generated.

Rotating ring fluxon oscillators: Gyroscopic effects
Applied Physics Letters, 1986We suggest the existence of gyroscopic effects in ring fluxon oscillators, which, due to the extremely narrow oscillation linewidths, could therefore be used as sensitive rotation rate sensors. For the sake of comparison we also improve on previous analytical determinations of the thermal background intensity for oscillating Josephson lines.

Mismatch Characterization of Ring Oscillators
2007 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference, 2007We investigate the frequency matching of ring oscillators to study the matching of the non-static operation of identical high speed analog, digital and RF circuits. The oscillator test structures on a 0.25 mum CMOS technology operate in the 500 MHz to 3 GHz range.

Ring oscillators: The asynchronous alternative
2011 Faible Tension Faible Consommation (FTFC), 2011Self-timed rings (STR) are promising approach for designing high-speed serial links and clock generators. Indeed, the architecture of STRs presents well-suited characteristics for managing process variability and offering an appropriate structure to limit the phase noise.

Temperature stabilized CMOS ring oscillator
2013 IEEE International Conference in MOOC, Innovation and Technology in Education (MITE), 2013This paper presents a new technique to improve the frequency stability and amplitude stability with respect to temperature of ring oscillator using CMOS technology at 500nm technology using 3 volts supply voltage with 100fF load capacitance. There are several proposed architecture for the improvement in frequency stability and amplitude stability of ...

The Ring Amplifier: Scalable Amplification with Ring Oscillators
2014Ring amplification is a technique for performing efficient amplification in nanoscale CMOS technologies. By using a cascade of dynamically stabilized inverter stages to perform accurate amplification, ring amplifiers are able to leverage the key benefits of technology scaling, resulting in excellent efficiency and performance.

Jitter in ring oscillaton is theoretically described, and predictions are experimentally verified. A design procedure is developed in the context of time domain measures or oscillator Jitter in a plase-locked loop (PLL). A major contribution is the identification of a design figure of merit k , which is independent or the number of stages in the ring.

Ring-geometry IMPATT oscillator diodes
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1968Ring-geometry IMPATT diodes have been developed which give 1.15 watts output power at 8.4 to 10 GHz, compared with 0.87 watt obtained from solid-circular-geometry diodes of the same basic design. The improved performance is due to better thermal dissipation in the ring structure.

Monolithic unidirectional planar ring oscillators
SPIE Proceedings, 1990The design elements of a diode-pumped Nd:YAG planar-ring oscillator (PRO) are presented, along with the theory describing the operation of PROs. Design considerations based on the theoretical findings are assessed, and it is pointed out the phase shift of the effective waveplate can be tuned to account for any practical deviations of the phase shift in
