ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...

Meningovascular Inflammation in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy‐Related Cortical Superficial Siderosis
ABSTRACT The role of inflammation in cortical superficial siderosis (cSS), a marker of cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) linked to high hemorrhage risk, is unclear. We examined 15 patients with cSS using 3 T post‐contrast vessel wall MRI (VWI) and CSF analysis.

Air-coupled ultrasound detection using capillary-based optical ring resonators
We experimentally demonstrate and theoretically analyze high Q-factor (~107) capillary-based optical ring resonators for non-contact detection of air-coupled ultrasound. Noise equivalent pressures in air as low as 215 mPa/√Hz and 41 mPa/√Hz at 50 kHz and

Resonance splitting in nonuniform ring resonators
The frequency response of a microstrip ring resonator with small terminal couplings is discussed. For resonators consisting of nonuniform lines, there is shown to be resonance splitting in the transfer function.

ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.

Resonance hybridization in double split-ring resonator metamaterials
We introduce a plasmon hybridization picture to understand the optical properties of double split-ring resonator metamaterials. The analysis is based on the calculated reflectance spectra from a finite-integration time-domain algorithm. Field distributions of the double split-ring resonators at the resonant frequencies confirm the results from the ...

Note: Tunable overlapping half-ring resonator
A unique tunable microwave resonator with a pair of half-rings is introduced and validated by experimental data. The capacitive gap between the overlapping areas can be controlled accurately using a magnetic actuator for tunability. The design geometry is scalable to cover different bands of electromagnetic spectrum. Transmission characteristics of the
