A comprehensive theoretical model for on-chip microring-based photonic fractional differentiators

open access: yes, 2015
Microring-based photonic fractional differentiators play an important role in the on-chip all-optical signal processing. Unfortunately, the previous works do not consider the time-reversal and the time delay characteristics of the microring-based ...

Pulley-type Ring Resonator and Optimization

open access: yesProceedings of the 6th International Conference on Optical Communication Systems, 2015
In this work, we propose a guideline to design the high Q-factor ring resonators. To keep the optical energy in the ring, the radiation loss of the ring should be reduced. The difference of the propagation constant between the bus waveguide and the ring should be enlarged to prevent from the light in ring to be coupled back to the bus waveguide.

CAR T‐Cell Therapy in Neurology: A Scoping Review of Neuro‐Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases & Neurotoxicity

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy has been investigated in neurological diseases, encompassing both central nervous system malignancies and autoimmune disorders, thereby extending its application beyond hematological cancers.

Fluidic and Polymeric Integration and Functionalization of Optical Microresonators

open access: yes, 2006
Optical resonators are structures that spatially confine and temporally store light. The use of such resonators continues to permeate throughout society as improvements in their design and fabrication qualify them to fulfill an ever-increasing array of ...

Ring resonator based SOI biosensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, two recent advances in silicon ring resonator biosensors are presented. First, we address the problem that due to the high index contrast, small deviations from perfect symmetry lift the degeneracy of the normal resonator mode.

Sex‐Stratified Association of Regional Dopamine Transporter Binding With Disease Progression in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To clarify the clinical relevance of dopamine transporter single‐photon emission computed tomography (DAT‐SPECT) abnormalities in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), with a prespecified focus on sex‐stratified associations with disease progression and short‐term prognosis.

Neurochemical Endpoints to Inform Early‐Stage Trials of Spinocerebellar Ataxia 2 and 3 in a Multisite Setting

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neurochemical levels measured by brain MR spectroscopy (MRS) have been proposed as endpoints for clinical trials in early‐stage spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) trials. We tested their trial‐readiness by quantifying neurochemicals in three affected brain regions in early‐stage cohorts of SCA2 and SCA3, examining their reproducibility in ...

Electroencephalographic Normalization as a Biomarker of Clinical Recovery in Down Syndrome Regression Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Down syndrome regression disorder is a syndrome characterized by subacute loss of cognitive, behavioral, and functional abilities in individuals with Down syndrome. Electroencephalography abnormalities are frequently observed during evaluation, but it remains unclear whether these findings represent a dynamic marker of disease ...

Fabrication of tapered fiber based ring resonator

open access: yes, 2010
Tapered fiber based ring resonators are fabricated and its optical characteristic is investigated in detail. The ring resonator is fabricated by coiling the tapered fiber, which is firstly made by heating and stretching a piece of optical fiber, after ...

T1 Over Squared Proton Density Ratio to Characterize Multiple Sclerosis Lesions

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Differentiating remyelinated from demyelinated lesions in MS remains challenging without histological confirmation. This study introduces the T1‐to‐PD2 ratio (TPR) imaging approach and evaluates its ability to characterize MS lesions alongside other quantitative MRI (qMRI) metrics. Methods Thirty individuals with MS (mean age: 47.5 ±
