New ring shear deformation apparatus for three-dimensional multiphase experiments: first results [PDF]
Multiphase deformation, where a solid and fluid phase deform simultaneously, plays a crucial role in a variety of geological hazards, such as landslides, glacial slip, and the transition from earthquakes to slow slip. In all these examples, a continuous,

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Sensitivity analysis of flow stress, determined from the ring compression, with respect to friction coefficient and sample dimensions [PDF]
There is a general opinion that flow stress of materials should be the property, which is independent of the type of the tests, which is used to determine this stress, and to the sample dimensions.

Evolution of the wall shear stresses during the progressive enlargement of symmetric abdominal aortic aneurysms. [PDF]
The changes in the evolution of the spatial and temporal distribution of the wall shear stresses (WSS) and gradients of wall shear stresses (GWSS) at different stages of the enlargement of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) are important in understanding

Shear strengthening of wall panels through jacketing with cement mortar reinforced by GFRP grids [PDF]
This paper gives the results of a series of shear tests carried out on historic wall panels reinforced with an innovative technique by means of jacketing with GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics) mesh inserted into an inorganic matrix.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...
