Geomechanical evolution model of bedding rock landslides in construction areas: A case study of the Maidiping landslide in Tiefeng Town, Wanzhou

open access: yes地质科技通报, 2023
Objective Engineering construction is the main cause and risk-bearing object for landslides, where excavation at the foot of a slope has a great impact on the stability of a slope.

Study on Mechanical Behavior of Slip Zone Soils Under Different Factors—A Case Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
The mechanical properties of the slip zone soil play an important role in the evolution of the loess landslides. To further understand these characteristics, a series of ring shear tests was conducted on the slip zone soils obtained from Tianshuigou ...

Analysis of cavitation and shear in bellows pump: transient CFD modelling and high-speed visualization

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2023
Pneumatic drive bellows pumps (PDBPs) are a crucial fluid control component in the semiconductor industry. However, when dealing with specific chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) slurries, agglomeration of particles can occur, leading to scratches ...

Factors residual strength of Luochuan loess

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2017
In the loess regions loess landslide is one of the major geological disasters. Every year it results in a large number of casualties and destructions. It is found that the average shear stress on the sliding surface of these landslides is much smaller ...

Influence of loading-rate and steel fibers on the shear strength of ultra high performance concrete

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
The paper describes quasi-static and dynamic experimental methods used to examine the confined shear strength of an Ultra High Performance Concrete, with and without the presence of steel fibers in the concrete composition.

Effect of over-consolidation and shear rate on the residual strength of soils of silty sand in the Three Gorges Reservoir

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Estimation of the residual strength of the soil on the landslide sliding surface is essential for analyzing reactivated landslides. This study investigated the influence of over-consolidation ratio (OCR) and shear rate on the residual strength of SM-type

Traumatic Microhemorrhages Are Not Synonymous With Axonal Injury

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is caused by acceleration‐deceleration forces during trauma that shear white matter tracts. Susceptibility‐weighted MRI (SWI) identifies microbleeds that are considered the radiologic hallmark of DAI and are used in clinical prognostication.

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.
