Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

On the Ring Isomorphism & Automorphism Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We study the complexity of the isomorphism and automorphism problems for finite rings with unity. We show that both integer factorization and graph isomorphism reduce to the problem of counting automorphisms of rings.

Strongly (Completely) Hollow Sub-modules II

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2017
Let M be an R-module, where R is commutative ring with unity. In this paper we study the behavior of strongly hollow and quasi hollow submodule in the class of strongly comultiplication modules.

Properties of ϕ-Primal Graded Ideals

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2017
Let R be a commutative graded ring with unity 1≠0. A proper graded ideal of R is a graded ideal I of R such that I≠R. Let ϕ:I(R)→I(R)∪{∅} be any function, where I(R) denotes the set of all proper graded ideals of R.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The modified divisor graph of commutative ring

open access: yesRatio Mathematica
Let \( R \) be a finite commutative ring with unity. We have introduced a divisor graph of the ring, denoted by \( D[R] \). It is an undirected simple graph with a vertex set \( V = R - \{0, 1\} \), and two distinct vertices \( u \) and \( v \) in \( V \)

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Ring formations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
In partial fulfillment for a B.A degree in Studio Arts with upper division honors, I have chosen to take on a creative project in which I have explored, through ceramic medium, the concepts that I identify with the shape of a ring.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
