Applying risk matrices for assessing the risk of psychosocial hazards at work [PDF]
Although wide-ranging amendments in health and safety regulations at the European and national level oblige employers to conduct psychosocial risk assessment, it is still under debate how psychosocial hazards can be properly evaluated.

Review of the Strengths and Weaknesses of Risk Matrices [PDF]
Risk assessment and risk matrices are powered tools used in risk management and help guide in the process of decision-making in organisations. Nevertheless, risk matrices have their own weaknesses and strengths. This paper provides a critical overview of

Credit Risk Meets Random Matrices: Coping with Non-Stationary Asset Correlations [PDF]
We review recent progress in modeling credit risk for correlated assets. We employ a new interpretation of the Wishart model for random correlation matrices to model non-stationary effects.

Beyond probability-impact matrices in project risk management: A quantitative methodology for risk prioritisation [PDF]
The project managers who deal with risk management are often faced with the difficult task of determining the relative importance of the various sources of risk that affect the project.

Critical risk identification in construction projects using 2D and 3D risk matrices [PDF]
Construction projects are exposed to numerous risks that may adversely affect project cost and duration. The purpose of this study is to identify and prioritize key construction risks by combining a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with a Risk Breakdown ...

Risk Assessment Matrices for Workplace Hazards: Design for Usability [PDF]
In occupational safety and health (OSH), the process of assessing risks of identified hazards considers both the (i) foreseeable events and exposures that can cause harm and (ii) the likelihood or probability of occurrence. To account for both, a table format known as a risk assessment matrix uses rows and columns for ordered categories of the ...

Can Public Health Risk Assessment Using Risk Matrices Be Misleading? [PDF]
The risk assessment matrix is a widely accepted, semi-quantitative tool for assessing risks, and setting priorities in risk management. Although the method can be useful to promote discussion to distinguish high risks from low risks, a published critique described a problem when the frequency and severity of risks are negatively correlated.

Compound Wishart Matrices and Noisy Covariance Matrices: Risk Underestimation [PDF]
In this paper, we obtain a property of the expectation of the inverse of compound Wishart matrices which results from their orthogonal invariance. Using this property as well as results from random matrix theory (RMT), we derive the asymptotic effect of the noise induced by estimating the covariance matrix on computing the risk of the optimal portfolio.
