Engineered 3D Fibronectin‐Based Environments Modulate the Pathogenic Profile of Arthritic Synovial Fibroblasts

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Fibroblast behavior is shaped by the surrounding microenvironment, yet conventional culture systems often fail to capture disease‐relevant phenotypes. Here, platform‐dependent responses of healthy and arthritic synovial fibroblasts are examined across 2D and 3D culture systems. Distinct inflammatory and proliferative signatures emerge, highlighting how

Cardiac morphological and morphometric analysis of Ardea alba

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Ardea alba (Linnaeus, 1758) is a widely distributed heron species whose cardiovascular morphology remains poorly described. This study aimed to characterize the cardiac morphology and morphometry of adult A. alba. Ten specimens were analyzed using radiographic, morphometric, histological, scanning electron microscopy, and three‐dimensional ...

Suture Slippage Is Influenced by Suture Type and Bone Density in a Knotless Lateral Row Rotator Cuff Repair: A Biomechanical Analysis

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Purpose To evaluate the influence of suture material and bone density on suture slippage in knotless lateral row anchors used in rotator cuff repair. Methods Analysis of 3 different suture materials loaded into a single lateral row anchor and tested in 2 different densities (osteoporotic and normal) of Sawbone models was conducted.

Higher Complement C4 Gene Copy Number Constitutes a Shared Genetic Risk Factor for Giant Cell Arteritis and IgA Vasculitis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Low copy number (CN) of complement C4 isoforms and high CN of retroviral HERV‐K elements are known risk factors for many immune‐mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs), often showing sex‐biased effects. Here, we assessed whether CN variation within the C4 gene contributes to giant cell arteritis (GCA) and IgA vasculitis (IgAV), two complex ...

AMETHYST: A Retrospective Cohort Study of Treatment Patterns and Outcomes in Patients With Glucocorticoid‐Refractory Macrophage Activation Syndrome Complicating Still's Disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Information is limited on the natural history and current treatment patterns in macrophage activation syndrome (MAS), a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory syndrome complicating Still's disease (systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis [sJIA] and adult‐onset Still's disease [AOSD]).

Scanning electron microscopy of the gills of a freshwater catfish,Rita Rita

open access: yesIchthyological Research, 1988
Variations in the gross morphology and surface architecture of the gill filaments and secondary lamellae of a freshwater catfish (Rita rita) have been investigated using scanning electron microscopy. Heterogeneity of the gill has been correlated with the distribution of lamellar water-flow at different regions of a gill filament.

Biobased Sunflower Stalk Matrix for Lipase Stabilization via Physical Adsorption

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The search for sustainable, cost‐effective biocatalytic processes has driven efforts to develop low‐cost supports for enzyme immobilization. Lignocellulosic residues have received particular attention due to their abundance, renewability, and structural properties.
