THREE DIMENSIONAL RIVER PLUME SPREADING

浅水海域に流入する河川プルームの挙動を予測するために自由水表面を有した三次元数値モデルの適用を図り, 明石川の流出流の現地観測結果との比較を行った. 流動場, 密度場とリフト・オフ現象の比較より, 提案モデルが小さな密度フルード数で放出された河川プルームの拡がり特性をうまく予測できることが確認された. さらに, 運動方程式の各項の寄与度を定量的に評価することによって動力学特性が明らかになった.

Riverine plumes greatly shape ocean environments and ecosystems. The Changjiang River plume, widely spreading in the Yellow and East China Seas in summer, induces extremely low surface salinity and threatens local aquaculture and fisheries.
