ABSTRACT Tropical rivers play a key role in regional carbon budgets, yet greenhouse gas (GHG) dynamics in regulated systems remain poorly understood. This study investigates the seasonal variability of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) concentrations, isotopic composition (δ13C), and river‐atmosphere fluxes in the lower Tocantins River, a ...

Nutrient depletion and phytoplankton shifts driven by the Pearl River plume in the Taiwan Strait
The intrusion of the Pearl River plume into the Taiwan Strait provides a unique case study that challenges traditional assumptions about the impacts of nutrient-rich river plumes on coastal phytoplankton communities.

Cycles of dieback and recovery drove mangrove forest dynamics at the Albert and Leichhardt Rivers (Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia) over 36 years (1987–2023). Landward margins were the most affected by reduced tidal inundation when the alignment of low lunar declination suppressed tidal range and extreme El Niño phases lowered mean sea level.

ABSTRACT Colorado's geologic, pedologic, topographic, hydrological, and climatic contrasts create strong but under‐synthesized opportunities for sustainable agritourism. This review investigates how geodiversity, and the broader environmental heterogeneity within which it operates, can be used to diversify farm income, strengthen place‐based visitor ...

Evaluating the Surface Response of Discharge Events in a New Zealand Gulf-ROFI
Using moorings with a surface expression, responses of buoyant river outflows were examined in the Firth-Hauraki Gulf system, New Zealand. The Firth region of freshwater influence (ROFI) behaves as a gulf-type ROFI where the balance of key processes lies

Driven by halon and high GWP agent phase out, perfluorohexanone is increasingly deployed in enclosures such as data centers, marine machinery spaces, and industrial process lines. This review summarizes application performance, discharge and distribution design, material compatibility, and byproduct control and maps practical gaps for large volume and ...
