How Sediment Supply, Sea‐Level, and Glacial Isostatic Oscillations Drive Alluvial River Long‐Profile Evolution and Terrace Formation

open access: yesAGU Advances
For over a century, alluvial river terraces have been used as archives of tectonic deformation or changes in water discharge, sediment supply, and sea level.

Morphostratigraphy of river terraces in the Eger valley (Czechia) focused on the Smrčiny Mountains, the Chebská pánev Basin and the Sokolovská pánev Basin

open access: yesActa Universitatis Carolinae Geographica, 2019
The Eger (Ohře) River terraces originated in varied morphotectonic and climate-morphogenetic conditions that existed during the late Cenozoic evolution of the western part of the Bohemian Massif.

Fluvial terrace formation in a mountainous area (2): influence of eustatism, tectonics and altitudinal distribution of watersheds based on an allostratigraphic study (Albania)

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Géoscience
Terraces are highly developed along the Albanian rivers and eleven levels of terraces are recognized in the area, nine occurring during the last glacial cycle (MIS 5d to end of MIS 2).

Uplifted late Quaternary marine terraces along the southern coast of Bohol Island, central Philippines, and their active tectonic implications

open access: yesGeoscience Letters
The island of Bohol in central Philippines is tectonically active with frequent seismic activities. The disastrous October 2013 earthquake, which occurred on a previously unmapped active fault, shows the urgent need for better understanding of potential ...

Soil-plant mercury concentrations in the Idrijca river terraces (Slovenia)

open access: yesGeologija, 2004
The subjects of research are mercury contents in plants and soils on river terraces in the lower reaches of the Idrijca River. Samples of averaged meadow forage and plaintain (Plantago lanceolata) contain from 0.055 to 0.220 mg Hg/kg in dry matter.

Modelling for a land suitability analysis of rice terraces on the upland area using the geographic information system (GIS) and analytical hierarchical process (AHP)

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering
Rice fields are the main source of rice production. Rice field expansion is one way to increase rice production. Rice field expansion activities for the upland area in Indonesia are often overlooked due to limited information about the availability of ...
