Maximizing throughput in RLNC-based multi-source multi-relay with guaranteed decoding

Digital Signal Processing, 2021
Abstract In this paper, an efficient and practical solution to cope with random linear network coding (RLNC) drawbacks and maximize the system throughput is proposed. No header overheads and no retransmissions are required as a result of the introduction of a unique codebook at the nodes in charge of RLNC coding and decoding.

We don't need no generation - a practical approach to sliding window RLNC

2017 Wireless Days, 2017
Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC) is a popular coding scheme to improve communication over lossy channels. For packet streaming applications (video streaming, general IP streams), recent research has shown that sliding window schemes can improve in-order delay properties compared to the block/-generation based coding.

A Black Hole Attack Protection Approach in IoT-Based Applications Using RLNC

2023
Smart environments have recently transformed the standard of human existence by increasing comfort and efficiency. IoT, or the internet of things, has become an instrument for developing intelligent environments. But because of security vulnerabilities in IoT-based systems, applications for smart environments are in danger.

Study and Analysis of Matrix Operations in RLNC Using Various Computing

2020
Random linear network coding gained its importance in recent days with its greater potential to enhance the performance of the IoT systems. But the challenging issue is the matrix multiplications and inversions involved in it. Nowadays, with increase in multimedia streaming formats, IoT devices like smartphones will try to make full use of ...

An improved homomorphic message authentication code scheme for RLNC-enabled wireless networks

2014 IEEE 19th International Workshop on Computer Aided Modeling and Design of Communication Links and Networks (CAMAD), 2014
Network Coding has significantly improved the achievable throughput and robustness compared to traditional store-and-forward transmission paradigm. However, network coding-enabled networks are susceptible to pollution attack where a small number of polluted messages will propagate in recoding and corrupt bunches of legitimate messages.

R-IoT: An Architecture Based on Recoding RLNC for IoT Wireless Network with Erase Channel

2020
A wireless IoT communication architecture is proposed that takes advantage of RLNC recording properties on natives packets of Core network. The platform aims to cover the shortcomings of the TCP/UDP/IP internet protocol for a traffic streaming intrasession sensitive to the delay in wireless networks since the current systems in native mode do not ...

Energy-Efficient Relay Selection for RLNC Network-Coded Cooperative D2D Communication

2019 5th Conference on Knowledge Based Engineering and Innovation (KBEI), 2019
Device-to-device (D2D) communication has been introduced as a promising technology for the 5th generation (5G) of cellular networks. It has been defined as a connection between two user equipments (UEs) without traversing the base station. In this paper, a heterogeneous macro-femtocell network is considered with the presence of D2D UEs.
