It is found that amorphous carbon (a-C) film shows a very large magnetoresistance (MR) of 27% at B=7T and 2 K. It is also found that the a-C/Si heterojunction shows a memory effect at 80 K. All chemical solution deposited coated conductors on ABADYSZ/SS tapes with critical current densities at 77 K of Jc = 1.8 MA / cm2 have been obtained. Superconducting YBCO films were grown by the trifluoroacetates route on top of metal organic deposited (Ce, Zr) O2 buffer layers.

Magnetic Properties of ${[{\rm SnO}_{2}/{\rm Cu}{-}{\rm Zn}\ {\rm ferrite}]}_{\rm n}$ Multilayers
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2012Multilayers (ML) of [SnO2/Cu-Zn ferrite]n ; were fabricated by rf-sputtering. The effect of number of bilayers, n, on its magnetic properties is studied. The rotational dependence of the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) parameters depict the anisotropic nature of the ML.

Ultraviolet (UV) response of p-Si/i-ZnO/n-ZnO (p-i-n) heterojunction photodetectors (HPDs) was dramatically enhanced by inserting a thin SiOx layer to form a p-Si/SiOx/ i-ZnO/n-ZnO structure. It was found that the leakage current of p-i-n HPDs is largely reduced by about three orders compared with that of conventional p-n HPDs.

Magnetism of $L1_{0}{\rm Fe}_{50-{\rm x}}{\rm Co}_{\rm x}{\rm Pt}_{50}$ Films
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2013Films of L10-structure Fe50-xCoxPt50 films are synthesized by co-sputtering Fe, Co and Pt on (001) MgO substrates and Si substrates with in-situ heating at 830°C. The nanostructures and magnetic properties of the films are characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and SQUID.
