Regime Mixing Ratio in Vacuum Dilute Phase Pneumatic Conveying Systems

open access: yesActa Universitatis Cibiniensis. Series E: Food Technology, 2014
This paper analyses some aspects of regime mixing ratio (RMR) in Vacuum Dilute Phase Pneumatic Conveying Systems in order to measure the energy efficiency of these systems.

A self‐determination approach towards capitalising on autonomy and innovative work behaviour in task performance

open access: yesCreativity and Innovation Management, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 978-990, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This study draws upon the self‐determination theory and the ambidexterity theory to explore the microfoundations of task performance; in particular, it examines the effect of job autonomy on task performance. While prior studies already supported the existence of a relationship between autonomy and task performance, in this research we advance

Comprehensive framework for assessing and optimizing existing research networks

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Conservation, monitoring, and research networks, or collections of ecological research sites unified under a common mission of data collection or a research mission, are essential infrastructure for understanding large landscapes. However, most networks developed opportunistically over decades rather than through systematic design, creating ...

Fiscal Opacity and Lack of Consensus in Expectations for External Sector Variables

open access: yesInternational Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fiscal transparency is essential for the expectations formation process, as governmental fiscal opacity often leads to forecast errors due to insufficient information. This study examines the relationship between fiscal unpredictability, particularly related to the primary budget, and the lack of consensus in expectations for external sector ...

Influence of Dietary Macronutrient Composition in the Estimation of RMR Using Indirect Calorimetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Endurance running leads to high exercise energy expenditure, and dietary energy intake should be adjusted to fuel this high-energy sport. Energy requirement can be predicted by Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and exercise energy expenditure. RMR

Impact of weight‐loss interventions on psoriasis severity: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Weight‐loss interventions were associated with clinically and statistically significant improvements in psoriasis severity (PASI and PASI 75) and quality of life (DLQI). These findings support the role of weight‐loss interventions as effective adjuncts to medical therapy and their integration into holistic psoriasis care.

New Bioelectrical Impedance-Based Equations to Estimate Resting Metabolic Rate in Young Athletes

open access: yesMethods and Protocols
Resting metabolic rate (RMR) significantly impacts total daily energy expenditure, particularly on training days, and varies among trained individuals. Studies estimating RMR in this population show notable discrepancies.

The Measurements of the Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and the Accuracy of RMR Predictive Equations for Korean Farmers

open access: yesKorean Journal of Community Nutrition, 2014
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to measure the resting metabolic rate (RMR) and to assess the accuracy of RMR predictive equations for Korean farmers. Methods: Subjects were 161 healthy Korean farmers (50 males, 111 females) in Gangwon-area.

Responses of Fruit Flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) to Protein Bait Applied at Different Densities

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The effectiveness of odour‐based lures for insects is related to their active space, the air volume around an odour source in which an insect will detect and move towards it. This principle applies to protein baits laced with toxicants that are used as either sprays or stations to suppress pest fruit fly populations.
