Conserved Organisation of 45S rDNA Sites and rDNA Gene Copy Number among Major Clades of Early Land Plants. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Genes encoding ribosomal RNA (rDNA) are universal key constituents of eukaryotic genomes, and the nuclear genome harbours hundreds to several thousand copies of each species.

Macroid Formation in Salmacina stellaebayensis n. sp. From Mauritania's Baie de l'Étoile With New Insights on Mitogenome Evolution in Serpulidae (Annelida)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
We describe Salmacina stellaebayensis n. sp. from Mauritania's Baie de l'Étoile and provide the first complete mitochondrial genome for the genus Salmacina. The species forms distinctive macroid colonies in Cymodocea nodosa seagrass meadows, offering new insights into serpulid life history and habitat specialization.

The 5.8S ribosomal RNA gene ofTrypannsoma brucei: structural and transciiptional studies [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1985
To further investigate the process of discontinuous transcription in trypanosomes, the 5.8S rRNA gene, present in the trypanosome genome as part of the multicopy rRNA gene cluster, has been cloned, sequenced, chromosomally mapped, and used in transcriptional studies.

Evaluation of RNA extraction methods in rice and their application in expression analysis of resistance genes against Magnaporthe oryzae

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment, 2017
Extraction of RNA of high quality and integrity is essential for gene expression studies and all downstream RNA-based techniques. The leaves of 16 merit Malaysian rice varieties were used to isolate total RNA using five different methods.

Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation in Major Hallmarks of Cancer

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 59, Issue 2, February 2026.
Aberrant condensates formed through phase separation are involved in the dysregulation of various critical cellular processes, including genome stability, transcriptional regulation and signal transduction, thereby promoting malignant transformation and the acquisition of multiple cancer hallmarks.

An improved direct RNA sequence method; its application to Vida faba 5.8S ribosomal RNA

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1980
We have developed a direct read-off sequencing procedure, based on the method of Stanley and Vassilenko using E. coli 5S ribosomal RNA as a model compound. Radioactive bands were transferred from an acrylamide gel fractionation in the first dimension onto a DEAE-cellulose thin layer plate. After in situ enzymatic digestion with RNase T2, mononucleoside

The sequence of the 5.8 S ribosomal RNA of the crustaceanArtemia salina. With a proposal for a general secondary structure model for 5.8 S ribosomal RNA [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1982
We report the primary structure of 5.8 S rRNA from the crustacean Artemia salina. The preparation shows length heterogeneity at the 5'-terminus, but consists of uninterrupted RNA chains, in contrast to some insect 5.8 S rRNAs, which consist of two chains of unequal length separated in the gene by a short spacer.

Cytogenetics of the razor clam "Solen marginatus" (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Solenidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
[Abstract:] The razor clam Solen marginatus has a diploid chromosome number of 38. The karyotype consists of one metacentric/submetacentric, three submetacentric/metacentric, five submetacentric, one submetacentric/subtelocentric, one subtelocentric ...

Versatile and Selective Biomolecule Pulldown with Combinatorial DNA‐Crosslinked Polymers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 5, 28 January 2026.
We present a programmable smart polymer system for universal, sequence‐selective bioseparation under native conditions. Polymer phase separation is achieved through combinatorial DNA crosslinking, enabling the capture of DNA, RNA, or proteins in a homogeneous solution with high pulldown efficiency and near‐zero background binding.
