Transfer RNA and Aminoacyl Transfer RNA in Developing Rats
Biology of the Neonate, 2009The total transfer RNA (tRNA) level in the liver, kidney, skeletal muscle and heart muscle of developing rats was determined by purification using (3H)tRNA as an internal standard. Liver and kidney contained almost twice as much tRNA per gram tissue as heart and skeletal muscle. There were no apparent differences between the sexes.

Phylogenetic trees of transfer RNA specific for phenylalanine, methionine initiator glycine and valine are constructed. Although the exact relationships between taxa cannot be obtained from the mere analysis of the sequences some conclusions can be drawn about the evolution of this molecule.
