A Field RNG Experiment: Use of a Digital RNG at Movie Theaters

NeuroQuantology, 2016
Over the past two decades, field RNG studies have reported anomalous statistical biases when a coherent event evokes emotions from an audience. A hardware device must be dedicated to generate true random numbers. Recent Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPU has an internal RNG, called a Digital RNG (Drng), which uses thermal noise. Using RdRand command, the present

Hybrid CMOS-OxRAM RNG circuits

2016 IEEE 16th International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE-NANO), 2016
Compact, low-power random number generators (RNG) are essential for applications such as stochastic, bio-inspired-computing and secure system data encryption/communication. We demonstrate for the first time highly scalable RNG circuits based on the reset-state transient current fluctuation of resistive switching OxRAM devices.

Assessment of RNG Turbulence Modeling and the Development of a Generalized RNG Closure Model

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2011
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">RNG k-ε closure turbulence dissipation equations are evaluated employing the CFD code KIVA-3V Release 2. The numerical evaluations start by considering simple jet flows, including incompressible air jets and compressible helium jets.

Reconfigurable ADC/True-RNG for Secure Sensor Networks

IEEE Sensors, 2005., 2006
A novel circuit configurable either as an analog to digital converter (ADC) or as a true random number generator (RNG) is presented. The architecture derives from pipeline ADCs and its operating mode can be changed on the fly. When used as an ADC, it pairs the performance of normal pipeline converters; otherwise it is capable of tens random Mbit/s and ...

Evaluation of an RNG-based algebraic turbulence model

Computers & Fluids, 1993
Abstract A new length scale and dissipation rate for a purely mathematically based algebraic turbulence model derived from renormalization group theory is proposed. The proposed length scale is developed in conjunction with an accurate characteristic length scale and the dissipation rate pertaining to the damping action due to the viscous force.

Assessing the Statistical Quality of RNGs

2020
There has and still is an ongoing discourse on how to measure the quality of random numbers generated by Random Number Generators (RNGs).

An RNG-based heuristic for curve reconstruction

2006 3rd International Symposium on Voronoi Diagrams in Science and Engineering, 2006
In this paper we propose an RNG-based heuristic for curve reconstruction. Given a set of n sample points S, we first construct a Relative Neighbourhood Graph on S, which is shown to contain all edges joining adjacent points on the unknown curve for an \in -sample with \in \lt 1/5. Next, we use a heuristic to remove non-adjacent edges.

LES and RNG Turbulence Modeling in DI Diesel Engines

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2003
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The one-equation subgrid scale model for the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulence model has been compared to the popular <i>k-ε</i> RNG turbulence model in very different sized direct injection diesel engines. The cylinder diameters of these engines range between 111 and 200 mm.

RNG RELAY SUBSET FLOODING PROTOCOLS IN MOBILE AD-HOC NETWORKS

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2003
In this paper, we study broadcasting protocols where nodes use some of their neighbors to forward messages. We propose a new protocol based on a variant of neighbor elimination scheme using RNG graph to ensure a full coverage of the network. The computation of RNG uses two kinds of distance: a geometrical one and and neighborhood-based distance that ...
