Toward Material‐Specific Peptides From in Silico Guided Peptide Engineering to Target PET in the Presence of PS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a computational–experimental strategy to engineer material‐binding peptides toward polymer specificity. Molecular dynamics simulations identified residues driving polystyrene binding, enabling targeted substitutions that greatly reduced polystyrene affinity while preserving PET binding.

Non-Exhaust Particulate Emissions from Road Transport Vehicles

open access: yesEnergies
As part of the Zero Pollution Action Plan of the Green Deal, the European Commission has set the goal of reducing the number of premature deaths caused by fine particulate matter (PM2.5) by at least 55% by 2030, compared to 2005 levels.

Dual‐line Genome‐scale CRISPR Screening Enables Robust Target Gene Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A species‐optimized CRISPR platform integrates efficient piggyBac delivery, genome‐scale sgRNA libraries, and parallel screening in two independently engineered Bactrocera dorsalis Cas9 cell lines. Cross‐line consensus analysis filters line‐specific effects, enriches candidates with reproducible in vivo phenotypes, and reveals conserved, species ...

Assessment of Snow Cover Contamination in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, Based on Elemental Analysis and Pollution Indices

open access: yesAtmosphere
Seasonal snow cover can serve as an informative single-season indicator of atmospheric deposition in industrial urban areas because it accumulates airborne contaminants during the winter period.

Magnetoelectric BaTiO3/CoFe2O4 Thin‐Film Meshes for Neuronal Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We engineer an epitaxial BaTiO3/CoFe2O4 magnetoelectric mesh that overcomes boundary‐induced mechanical clamping. Progressively reducing the mechanical constraint, from substrate‐clamped to PDMS‐transferred and ultimately freestanding, enhances magnetic‐to‐electric transduction and strengthens magnetoelectric coupling.

Dual‐Organelle Secretome Conjugation and Organ‐Uptake Tracking (DuO‐SCOUT) Enables Deep and Sensitive Mapping of the Secreted Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel dual‐organelle proximity labeling platform, DuO‐SCOUT, decodes the complex landscape of systemic organ‐organ communication by capturing both classical and unconventional secretomes. Application in metabolic models maps the adipose‐to‐brain secretory relay, identifying selective extra‐hypothalamic sites for adipose‐derived factors and expanding ...

Dispersion and emission modelling of traffic induced road dust [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis is concerned with the evaluation and development of models related to the emissions and dispersion of traffic induced road dust. Road traffic is a highly important source of a range of pollutants having adverse health and environmental ...

Comparative Study of Atmospheric Particulate Matter Size Distribution in East and West Tehran, Iran

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional
In order to investigate the particle size distribution pattern of atmospheric suspended particles in Tehran, simultaneous sampling was conducted at six stations located in the western (ST1 to ST3) and eastern (ST4 to ST6) halves of the city.

Improvements of air quality simulations of particulate matter in the Iberian peninsula with road dust resuspension and dust emission modules

open access: yes, 2017
The Mediterranean Basin is one of the most sensitive zones in the planet to air pollution. Besides anthropogenic emissions, the Iberian Peninsula is affected by natural particule matter (PM) sources. Dry weather conditions allow road dust to be resuspended by vehicle-induced turbulence.
