Insights on non-exhaust emissions: An approach for the chemical characterization of debris generated during braking

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Up to 50 % of total PM2.5 emissions are due to particles derived from the automotive sector, and both exhaust and non-exhaust emissions contribute to the pollution of urban areas.

Laboratory Measurements of Particulate Matter Concentrations from Asphalt Pavement Abrasion

open access: yesCivil and Environmental Engineering, 2016
The issue of emissions from road traffic is compounded by the fact that the number of vehicles and driven kilometres increase each year. Road traffic is one of the main sources of particulate matter and traffic volume is still increasing and has ...

EVALUATION OF RESUSPENSION OF ROAD DUST IN A CEMENT INDUSTIAL COMPLEX ARE

open access: yesInternational Journal of GEOMATE, 2017
Re-suspended road dust is an important contributor to ambient particulate matter (PM)particularly in an area where fugitive dust is significant emission source. This study evaluate PM-10 and PM2.5 emissions as fugitive re-suspended dust from the road network in the Thai’s Pollution Control Zone.Emissions of road dust are determined by using the ...

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Examining the effectiveness of municipal street sweeping in removing road-deposited particles and metal(loid)s of respiratory health concern

open access: yesEnvironment International
Road dust is a demonstrated source of urban air pollution. Given this, the implementation of street sweeping strategies that effectively limit road dust accumulation and resuspension should be a public health priority.

Myogenic Fusogen‐Engineered Lipid Nanoparticles Enhance mRNA Delivery in Skeletal Muscle

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a biomimetic strategy of engineering full‐length Myomaker, a muscle‐specific fusogen, into lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to harness the native myoblast fusion capability for skeletal muscle mRNA delivery. The resulting Mymk‐LNPs enhance transfection in differentiating myocytes and enable Cre‐mediated reporter activation in injured ...
