Routing Model for Multicommodity Freight in an Intermodal Network under Disruptions [PDF]

open access: yesTransportation Research Record (2016), 2548(1), 71-80
This paper presents a mathematical model for the routing of multicommodity freight in an intermodal network under disruptions. A stochastic mixed-integer program was formulated to minimize not only operational costs of various modes and transfer costs at terminals but also penalty costs associated with unsatisfied demands.

Planning routes in road freight minimizing logistical costs and accident risks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) has been widely studied throughout its history as a way of optimizing routes by minimizing distances, and the issue of risk in VRP has been received less attention, which is essential to increase transport safety, to reduce accident costs and to improve delivery reliability.

Integrating Parcel Deliveries into a Ride-Pooling Service -- An Agent-Based Simulation Study [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This paper examines the integration of freight delivery into the passenger transport of an on-demand ride-pooling service. The goal of this research is to use existing passenger trips for logistics services and thus reduce additional vehicle kilometers for freight delivery and the total number of vehicles on the road network.

An integrated modeling approach to assess the impact on road freight transport demand of allowing longer and heavier vehicles (LHVs) in Spain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The assessment on introducing Longer and Heavier Vehicles (LHVs) on the road freight transport demand is performed in this paper by applying an integrated modeling approach composed of a Random Utility-Based Multiregional Input-Output model (RUBMRIO) and
