A Comparison of Local Authority Procedures in Road Safety. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
It has been recognised that there are large differences in the working practices of safety teams amongst the highway authorities of Great Britain. This study was undertaken to assist the development of short courses in safety and accident analysis for ...

Melt Grafting of Geometry‐Tailored Voltage Stabilizers for High‐Performance Polypropylene Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable one‐step melt grafting strategy is developed to enhance the dielectric properties of isotactic polypropylene by covalently incorporating thermally stable aromatic voltage stabilizers. This solvent‐free approach improves volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength through deep trap formation and charge localization, offering a sustainable ...

Motorcycle Safety – the Next Magic Bullet?

open access: yesJournal of Road Safety, 2005
Although motorcycle crashes account for more than 10% of road trauma, motorcycle safety is an area of road safety that has generally been overlooked When I started taking an interest in this subject several years ago I was told that it was adequately ...

Applications of the theory of planned behaviour to drivers' speeding behaviour [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The theory of planned behaviour (TPB; Ajzen, 1985, 1988, 1991) provides apotentially useful approach for investigating the links between drivers' attitudes andbehaviour and for informing road safety interventions that aim to promote 'safe' driving.

Fully Bio‐Based Gelatin Organohydrogels via Enzymatic Crosslinking for Sustainable Soft Strain and Temperature Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Enzymatically crosslinked gelatin‐based organohydrogels, fabricated through a fully bio‐based and scalable process, exhibit exceptional strain and temperature sensing capabilities with minimal interference from environmental humidity. These transparent, stretchable, and ionically conductive materials operate without synthetic fillers or dopants.

Methodology to assess safety effects of future Intelligent Transport Systems on railway level crossings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
There is consistent evidence showing that driver behaviour contributes to crashes and near miss incidents at railway level crossings (RLXs). The development of emerging Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure technologies is a highly promising ...
