Solution methods to the nearest rotation matrix problem in ℝ3: A comparative survey
Abstract Nowadays, the singular value decomposition (SVD) is the standard method of choice for solving the nearest rotation matrix problem. Nevertheless, many other methods are available in the literature for the 3D case. This article reviews the most representative ones, proposes alternative ones, and presents a comparative analysis to elucidate their

Fight silent horror unit test methods by consulting a TestWizard
Abstract Tests, when not correctly implemented, can pass on incorrect system implementations rather than fail. In this case, they are named silent horrors or false‐negative tests. They make releasing low‐quality (buggy) versions of the software system more probable.

This study presents a control oriented, stochastic filtering approach for online, continuous estimation of the exchange current density in low temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells. The fuel cell is framed as a Markov model where the exchange current density is posed as the stochastic hidden state and a particle filter algorithm is developed ...

Numerous control strategies of temperature regulation have been carried out for proton‐exchange membrane fuel cell systems including a cooling fan in order to ensure operation at the desired condition and extend the lifetime of the fuel cell stack. However, most existing control strategies are developed without considering the efficiency limitation of ...

Iterative Learning Control Experimental Results in Twin‐Rotor Device
This paper presents the results of applying the Iterative Learning Control algorithms to a Twin‐Rotor Multiple‐Input Multiple‐Output System (TRMS) in order to achieve high performance in repetitive tracking of trajectories. The plant, which is similar to a prototype of helicopter, is characterized by its highly nonlinear and cross‐coupled dynamics.

Time‐Varying Scheme for Noncentralized Model Predictive Control of Large‐Scale Systems
The noncentralized model predictive control (NC‐MPC) framework in this paper refers to any distributed, hierarchical, or decentralized model predictive controller (or a combination of them) the structure of which can change over time and the control actions of which are not obtained based on a centralized computation.

Distributed Leader‐Following Formation of Discrete‐Time Multi‐Agent LPV Systems
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the leader‐following formation consensus problem for multi‐agent systems (MASs) with agents represented by discrete‐time linear parameter‐varying (LPV) models. The scenario where each agent can be modeled with distinct time‐varying scheduling parameters is investigated with respect to compensation signals.
