Luminescence Vapochromism of a Cu(I)/Na Phosphane Iodide Assembly Based on a Secondary‐Sphere Sodium Response

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The luminescence of a heterometallic d‐s {Cu2I2Na2} phosphane‐phosphinate aggregate is regulated by an interplay of Na+–π/I– contacts and reversible coordination of oxygen‐containing organic molecules to Na ions. Structural variations caused by the incoming guest lead to a wide and selective variation of the emission color and illustrate a new approach

Deciphering the Role of Energy Transfer Configuration in PFAS Recognition by Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Spatial organization of Eu/Tb centers in EuTb‐FDA MOFs is employed to regulate Tb‐to‐Eu energy transfer configuration for ratiometric PFAS sensing. Directional energy transfer amplifies PFAS‐induced optical perturbations into opposite lanthanide emission responses, with enhanced Tb emission and quenched Eu emission, thereby amplifying the sensing ...

Bottlebrush Polyolefin Sulfones as Triggerable and Degradable Pressure‐Sensitive Adhesives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A grafting‐through alternating copolymerization strategy yields poly(norbornene sulfone) bottlebrush polymers with high molar mass. These materials function as additive‐free pressure‐sensitive adhesives. The incorporation of cleavable sulfone units enables rapid breakdown under mild alkaline conditions, providing a pathway toward sustainable, high ...

Metal–Metal Cooperative C─F and S─F Bond Cleavage by Low‐Valent Tetracobalt Clusters and Water‐Assisted Fluoroarene Hydrodefluorination

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled tetrahedral CoI4 clusters supported by simple bipyridine‐based ligands undergo core rearrangement to cleave S─F and C(sp2)─F bond, forming fluoride‐bridged tetracobalt(II)‐oxo clusters, while exposure of cobalt(I) clusters to molecular oxygen yields cubane‐type cobalt(III) oxo clusters.
