Beginning with a functional program, the rational design method adopted by modernist architects took cognizance of neither cultural meaning nor context. Although criticized for these shortcomings by post-modern theorists, no means of introducing such concerns into the planning process has ever been proposed.

Standardized surface‐independent immobilization of biosensing layers by means of COOH linker‐layer using plasma polymerization under atmospheric pressure conditions, with the potential for commercialization. PMMA is successfully biofunctionalized with streptavidin, IgG, and protein G, showing stable performance for at least one month.
