Photochemistry of Aromatic N‐Oxides in Water Probed by Time‐Resolved X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved XAS at the nitrogen and oxygen K‐edges is applied to the photorearrangement of two N‐oxides in water. Pyridine N‐oxide rapidly forms the oxaziridine isomer. Pyridazine N‐oxide undergoes ring opening to the diazo compound, without any evidence of intermediates.

A Bio‐Based Chiroptical Overcrowded Alkene From Flavanone: Photoreactivity and Theoretical Investigation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A sustainable route to photoresponsive molecular systems is achieved using the bio‐based flavanone (‐)‐isolonchocarpin from Tephrosia vogelii. Through McMurry homocoupling and light‐driven 6‐π‐electrocyclization, an overcrowded alkene and a fluorescent O‐heterocyclic phenanthrene are synthesized.

Expanding Cyanide‐Bridged Weakly Coordinating Anions Through the Brominated Silver Salt Ag[BCNBBr]

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The brominated weakly coordinating anion [μ‐(CN)(B(C6F4Br)3)2] ([BCNBBr]−), based on two B(C6F4Br)3 units bridged by cyanide, is obtained as its silver salt Ag[BCNBBr] from CH2Cl2. Ag[BCNBBr] enables oxidation and halide abstraction reactions, affording diverse [BCNBBr]− salts with oxidizing and electrophilic cations.

Carbon monoxide adsorption on NaY zeolite and impregnated with 5% niobium: Characteristics and fixed‐bed study

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Schematic of the CO adsorption process in a fixed‐bed column containing pure NaY zeolite and Nb‐modified NaY (NaY–5%Nb). On the left, breakthrough curves and temperature profiles highlight the dynamic performance and thermal effects during CO adsorption.

Family Ownership and ESG Performance: The Moderating Role of Sustainability Committee and ESG‐Linked Executive Compensation

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Grounded in agency theory, this article examines the relationship between family ownership concentration and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, and analyzes the moderating role of sustainable governance mechanisms. Specifically, it assesses whether sustainability committees and ESG‐linked executive compensation moderate ...

Challenges in Implementing European Regulation on Water Reuse for Sustainable Agriculture

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Regulation (EU) 2020/741 on minimum requirements for water reuse is a key policy for sustainable water management under growing water scarcity in Europe. This paper examines expert perspectives on the challenges involved in implementing EU regulation for water reuse in agriculture, aiming to broaden existing research, which is largely ...

Exercise limitations in amyloid cardiomyopathy assessed by cardiopulmonary exercise testing—A multicentre study

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1326-1335, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Amyloid cardiomyopathy is caused by the deposition of light chain (AL) or transthyretin amyloid (ATTR) fibrils, that leads to a restrictive cardiomyopathy, often resulting in heart failure (HF) with preserved or reduced ejection fraction.

Disinformation and misinformation in epilepsy: An analysis of multiplatform short‐form social media video content

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Short‐form social media content is increasing in popularity but is at risk for propagating health‐related disinformation/misinformation. We aimed to quantify epilepsy‐related disinformation/misinformation on three such platforms: TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Compound heterozygous SLC12A5 variants expand the molecular and functional spectrum of KCC2‐developmental and epileptic encephalopathy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Overview of the multimodal experimental approach integrating clinical, genetic, in silico, and in vitro investigations. Clinical: Representative EEG recording setup and ictal traces from affected patients. Genetic: Pedigrees for Families A and B highlighting the inheritance of the four identified SLC12A5 variants (A1, A2, B1, B2).
