Robertsonian Translocations

2011
Abstract THE AMERICAN INSECT CYTOGENETICIST W. R. B. Robertson first described translocations of chromosomes resulting from the fusion of two acrocentrics in his study of insect speciation in 1916, and this type of translocation is named Robertsonian (abbreviation rob) in his honor.

Severe Hypospadias Associated with Robertsonian Translocation

Urologia Internationalis, 2005
In this study, we report a 3-year-old boy with severe scrotal hypospadias with Robertsonian translocation [45,XY,t(13q;14q)]. The patient was born at term with a low birth weight and hypospadias. There was no endocrinological abnormality. His father also has a balanced 13–14 Robertsonian translocation. Two-stage hypospadias repair was carried out.

Robertsonian translocation in a Zebu bull

Theriogenology, 1985
Karyotypes were prepared for ten Rahaji bulls using cultured peripheral blood lymphocytes. C-banded metaphases were prepared to identify the sex chromosomes and possible translocations. Out of the ten bulls, studied one bull had a 2n number of 59 chromosomes and carried a Robertsonian translocation.

Robertsonian translocation in Sykia Chalkidiki cattle

Theriogenology, 1992
This is the first report on the Robertsonian 1/29 translocation in the Sykia Chalkidiki cattle breed. The characteristics of this endangered breed are described, and the possibilities of rescuing and exploiting the breed in a zootechnical sense are examined.

Homologous Robertsonian translocation (21q21q) and abortions

Human Genetics, 1990
Instances of balanced Robertsonian translocations between the homologues of chromosome 21 were observed in two couples with a history of repeated abortions. The male partner of one couple and the female partner of another couple exhibited this anomaly. The translocation (21q21q) was found to be transmitted to their live children with Down's syndrome.

Robertsonian Translocations

2018
Abstract Robertsonian translocations are among the most common balanced structural rearrangements seen in the general population, with a frequency in newborn surveys of about 1 in 1,000. Robertsonian translocations have their own peculiar characteristics and need to be considered separately.

Glomemlonephritis Associated with Robertsonian Translocation t(13;14)

Nephron, 1992
We report the first case of glomerulonephritis associated with Robertsonian translocation t(13;14) in a 18-year-old female. The renal biopsy revealed mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis with mesangial IgG and C3 deposits. The patient also has congenital absence of ovaries and an underdeveloped uterus. Our report suggests that renal abnormalities

Robertsonian translocations in Paget's disease of bone

Journal of Orthopaedic Research, 1997
AbstractThe karyotypes of 14 patients with Paget's disease of bone were studied. The patients were recruited from our bone metabolism clinic where they received specific therapy for their skeletal disease. Eight of the 14 patients had chromosomal translocations localized to the D and G groups.
