Synthetic Aspects and Characterization Needs in MOF Chemistry – from Discovery to Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Overcoming the challenges of phase discovery, synthesis optimization and scale‐up, characterization, and computational studies is essential to accelerate the large‐scale application of MOFs. Life‐cycle analyses and techno‐economic analyses need to be performed to realistically assess their potential for industrial relevance.

Neumann and Robin type boundary conditions in Fractional Orlicz-Sobolev spaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In the first part of this article we deal with the existence of at least three non-trivial weak solutions of a nonlocal problem with nonstandard growth involving a nonlocal Robin type boundary condition. The second part of the article is devoted to study eigenvalues and minimizers of several nonlocal problems for the fractional $g-$Laplacian ...

A strange term coming from the boundary data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In this paper, I derive the limiting behaviour of the solutions to Poisson's equation, in a perforated domain, subject to inhomogeneous Robin boundary conditions. In the first half of the paper, I derive a generalised limit for non-periodic domains and arbitrary boundary data.

Glaphene: A Hybridization of 2D Silica Glass and Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
‘Glaphene’, a novel hybrid material combining 2D silica glass and graphene, is synthesized via a scalable liquid precursor‐based vapor‐phase growth. This study reveals interlayer hybridization beyond van der Waals interactions, leading to emergent semiconducting behavior.

Boundary Conditions as Dynamical Fields

open access: yes, 2015
The possibility of treating boundary conditions in terms of a bilocal dynamical field is formalized in terms of a boundary action. This allows for a simple path-integral perturbation theory approach to physical effects such as radiation from a time ...

Halide Perovskite Photocatalysts for Clean Fuel Production and Organic Synthesis: Opportunities and Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides the state‐of‐the‐art overview of halide perovskite‐based photocatalysts for hydrogen production from water and halogen acid solutions, CO2 reduction into value‐added chemicals, and organic chemical transformations. Different types of halide perovskite photocatalysts and their relative efficiencies for hydrogen generation and CO2 ...

Charge superradiance on charged BTZ black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We study superradiant scattering for a charged scalar field subject to Robin (mixed) boundary conditions on a charged BTZ black hole background. Scalar field modes having a real frequency do not exhibit superradiant scattering, independent of the ...

Regular eigenvalue problem with eigenparameter contained in the equation and the boundary conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1990
The purpose of this paper is to establish the expansion theorem for a regular right-definite eigenvalue problem for the Laplace operator in Rn, (n≥2) with an eigenvalue parameter λ contained in the equation and the Robin boundary conditions on two “parts”

On the lowest eigenvalue of Laplace operators with mixed boundary conditions

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we consider a Robin-type Laplace operator on bounded domains. We study the dependence of its lowest eigenvalue on the boundary conditions and its asymptotic behavior in shrinking and expanding domains.

Influence of Ion Size on Structure and Redox Chemistry in Na‐Rich and Li‐Rich Disordered Rocksalt Battery Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The larger ion size of Na+ versus with Li+ has a pronounced impact on the intercalation chemistry of disordered rocksalt cathode materials. On charge, the disordered rocksalt structure is retained in Li2MnO2F but it is lost in Na2MnO2F resulting in extensive amorphization.
