Emerging Techniques in Minimally Invasive Surgery in Hematologic Malignancies

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hematologic malignancies represent the most common cancers in children. While the mainstays of treatment are chemotherapy and potentially hematopoietic stem cell transplant, minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has a role in the diagnosis and management of complications related both to disease and therapy as well as common pediatric surgical ...

A haptic training environment for the heart myoblast cell injection procedure

open access: yes, 2010
The heart muscle of a cardiac arrest victim continues to accumulate damage throughout its lifetime. This reduces the heart\u27s ability to pump sufficient oxygen and nutrient blood to meet the body\u27s needs.

Robot‐assisted resection of diaphragmatic and hepatorenal recess peritoneal endometriosis: Two cases and a narrative review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 173, Issue 2, Page 614-623, May 2026.
Abstract In this report, we describe two cases of diaphragmatic endometriosis with concurrent hepatorenal recess peritoneal involvement managed using robotic‐assisted laparoscopic surgery with the da Vinci Xi platform. In both patients, diaphragmatic implants and hepatorenal recess peritoneal lesions were excised en bloc, followed by resection of ...

Evaluation of a robot-assisted video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery programme

open access: yesExperimental and Therapeutic Medicine, 2014
At present, there is increasing interest in surgical procedures using a robot-assisted device. The aim of this study was to investigate whether robot-assisted video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) was more effective than conventional VATS. A total of 64 VATS lobectomies in Papworth Hospital (Cambridge, UK) were included in the study.

Robotic‐Assisted CT‐Guided Synchronous Percutaneous Lung Biopsy and Cryoablation for Pulmonary Sub‐Solid Nodule: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
This case report demonstrates the successful application of a novel robotic‐assisted system for percutaneous lung biopsy and cryoablation of a pulmonary sub‐solid nodule. The technology enabled precise 3D trajectory planning and accurate needle placement, resulting in complete ablation with no recurrence at 7‐month follow‐up.

Contrast‐Enhanced Cone‐Beam CT‐Guided Robotic Bronchoscopic Biopsy of a Mediastinal Lymph Node Adjacent to Major Vascular Structures

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
We report a case of contrast‐enhanced cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT)‐guided robotic bronchoscopic biopsy of a high mediastinal lymph node adjacent to major vessels. Intravenous contrast during CBCT acquisition enabled clear differentiation between the target node and adjacent vascular structures, facilitating accurate segmentation, safe ...

Robotic Single‐Incision Laparoscopic Surgery for the Management of Endometriosis: First Experience Via the Da Vinci SP Platform

open access: yesThe International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery, Volume 22, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To demonstrate the feasibility and mid‐term outcomes of Robotic single‐port single‐incision laparoscopic surgery (RSP‐SILS) for endometriosis management. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 50 adult women with endometriosis who underwent RSP‐SILS via the da Vinci SP platform between November 2023 and July 2025.

Robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for lung resection: the first Canadian series [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Surgery, 2017
Robotic surgery was introduced as a platform for minimally invasive lung resection in Canada in October 2011. We present the first Canadian series of robotic pulmonary resection for lung cancer.Prospective databases at 2 institutions were queried for patients who underwent robotic resection for lung cancer between October 2011 and June 2015. To examine
