There Is No "I" in "Robot": Robots and Utilitarianism [PDF]
In this article, the author uses the 2004 film I, Robot as a philosophical resource for exploring several issues relating to machine ethics. Though the author did not consider the film particularly successful as a work of art, it offers a fascinating conception of machine morality and raises questions that are well worth pursuing.

Robot Creativity: Humanlike Behaviour in the Robot-Robot Interaction
2020Artificial Intelligence development is mainly directed toward imitating human reasoning and performing different tasks. For that purpose, related software and program solution where artificial intelligence is used have mostly thinking abilities. However, there are many questions to answer in ongoing AI research, especially when we come to the point ...

The use of mobile robots in applications is steadily increasing, both in the industrial and the service domains. Most mobile robots achieve locomotion using wheels. As a consequence, they are subject to differential constraints that are nonholonomic, i.e., non-integrable.

Mechanical flexibility in robot manipulators is due to compliance at the joints and/or distributed deflection of the links. Dynamic models of the two classes of robots with flexible joints or flexible links are presented, together with control laws addressing the motion tasks of regulation to constant equilibrium states and of asymptotic tracking of ...
