Robust adaptive beamforming under quadratic constraint
2010 2nd International Conference on Signal Processing Systems, 2010In this paper, a adaptive weighted computation algorithm based on quadratic constraint for a robust array antenna is presented to improve the shortcoming of linearly constrained adaptive beamformer's sensitivity to the mismatch between the prescribed and actual direction of arrival (MPDOA).

Robust Adaptive Beamforming with Sidelobe Controlled
Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Signal Processing Systems, 2017High sidelobe level and model mismatches, such as general steering vector (SV) mismatches, are two major disadvantages of the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) beamforming. To suppress the sidelobe for interference nulling when encountering a mismatch problem, we propose a novel robust adaptive beamforming (RAB) technique with controlled ...

Adaptive and Robust Beamforming
2014Abstract This chapter is dedicated to the overview of the main results in the fields of adaptive beamforming and robust adaptive beamforming. The basic principles and main approaches to adaptive and robust adaptive beamforming are explained based on the narrowband point source signal model.

Robust adaptive beamforming using convex optimization
2017 IEEE 30th Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2017This paper compares the performance of various beamforming techniques using convex optimization. A new robust beamforming technique is formulated, and its performance is compared with the diagonal loading, robust SOCP techniques and the standard sample matrix inversion technique in different scenarios. The robustness of the proposed technique to errors

Adaptive wideband beamforming with robustness against presteering errors
Fourth IEEE Workshop on Sensor Array and Multichannel Processing, 2006., 2006We develop a wideband adaptive beamformer with an improved robustness against presteering errors. The proposed beamformer employs the presteered broadband array processor and models the uncertainty in the array manifold as norm-bounded phase errors at the outputs of the presteering delay filters.

Robust adaptive beamforming based on propagator method and Eigenspace Beamformer
CSQRWC 2012, 2012A novel algorithm based on propagator method (PM) and Eigenspace Beamformer (ESB) for robust adaptive beamforming is presented. It has robust characteristics under the conditions of finite samples, desired signal point error and high SNR environment.

Robustness of an Adaptive Beamforming Method for Hearing Aids
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1990We describe the results of computer simulations of a multimicrophone adaptive-beamforming system as a noise reduction device for hearing aids. Of particular concern was the system's sensitivity to violations of the underlying assumption that the target signal is identical at the microphones. Two-and four-microphone versions of the system were tested in

A Subspace-based Robust Adaptive Capon Beamforming
PIERS Online, 2006Adaptive beamforming suffers from performance degradation in the presence of mismatch between the actual and presumed array steering vector of the desired signal. This idea enlightens us, so we propose a subspace approach to adaptive beamforming that is robust to array errors based on minimizing MUSIC output power.
