Variance Estimation for Logistic Regression in Case-cohort Studies
Background: The logistic regression analysis proposed by Schouten et al (Stat Med. 1993;12:1733–1745) has been a standard method in current statistical analysis of case-cohort studies, and it enables effective estimation of risk ratios from selected ...

Exploration of heterogeneity and recurrence signatures in hepatocellular carcinoma
This study leveraged public datasets and integrative bioinformatic analysis to dissect malignant cell heterogeneity between relapsed and primary HCC, focusing on intercellular communication, differentiation status, metabolic activity, and transcriptomic profiles.

Robust statistical inference for the matched net benefit and the matched win ratio using prioritized composite endpoints [PDF]
As alternatives to the time-to-first-event analysis of composite endpoints, the {\it net benefit} (NB) and the {\it win ratio} (WR) -- which assess treatment effects using prioritized component outcomes based on clinical importance -- have been proposed. However, statistical inference of NB and WR relies on a large-sample assumptions, which can lead to

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Robust Learning from Bites [PDF]
Many robust statistical procedures have two drawbacks. Firstly, they are computer-intensive such that they can hardly be used for massive data sets. Secondly, robust confidence intervals for the estimated parameters or robust predictions according to the

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

A Robust Root Mean Square Standardized Effect Size in One-Way Fixed-Effects ANOVA [PDF]
A robust Root Mean Square Standardized Effect Size (RMSSER) was developed to address the unsatisfactory performance of the Root Mean Square Standardized Effect Size. The coverage performances of the confidence intervals (CI) for RMSSER were investigated.

Confidence Intervals for Ratios of Proportions in Stratified Bilateral Correlated Data [PDF]
Confidence interval (CI) methods for stratified bilateral studies use intraclass correlation to avoid misleading results. In this article, we propose four CI methods (sample-size weighted global MLE-based Wald-type CI, complete MLE-based Wald-type CI, profile likelihood CI, and complete MLE-based score CI) to investigate CIs of proportion ratios to ...

This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.
