Accurate Robust Symmetry Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
There are various applications, both in medical and non-medical image analysis, which require the automatic detection of the line (2D images) or plane (3D) of reflective symmetry of objects. There exist relatively simple methods of finding reflective symmetry when object images are complete (i.e., completely symmetric and perfectly segmented from image

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Real-Time Orbit Determination of Micro–Nano Satellite Using Robust Adaptive Filtering

open access: yesSensors
Low-performing GPS receivers, often used in challenging scenarios such as attitude maneuver and attitude rotation, are frequently encountered for micro–nano satellites.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Selected Robust Logistic Regression Specification for Classification of Multi‑dimensional Functional Data in Presence of Outlier

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Oeconomica, 2018
In this paper, the binary classification problem of multi‑dimensional functional data is considered. To solve this problem a regression technique based on functional logistic regression model is used.

Robust $H_\infty$ Coherent-Classical Estimation of Linear Quantum Systems

open access: yes, 2016
We study robust $H_\infty$ coherent-classical estimation for a class of physically realizable linear quantum systems with parameter uncertainties. Such a robust coherent-classical estimator, with or without coherent feedback, can yield better disturbance-

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

One-Step Robust Estimation of Fixed-Effects Panel Data Models [PDF]

open access: yes
The panel-data regression models are frequently applied to micro-level data, which often suffer from data contamination, erroneous observations, or unobserved heterogeneity.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
