A robust NIR fluorescence-activated probe for peroxynitrite imaging in cells and mice osteoarthritis models

Analytical Biochemistry, 2023
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type of joint disease, which is difficult to treat, but early standardized diagnosis and treatment can effectively alleviate the pain and symptoms of patients. Therefore, it is important to construct an effective tool to assist in the early diagnosis and evaluation of the therapeutic effect of OA.

De Novo Design of a Robust Fluorescent Probe for Basal HClO Imaging in a Mouse Parkinson’s Disease Model

ACS Chemical Neuroscience, 2021
Elevated HClO gets involved in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD). Herein, a novel fluorescent probe NUU-1 was designed and synthesized. Distinct from the general strategies, NUU-1 features two distinct HClO reactive sites, a HClO-specific reaction site and a HClO-nonspecific reactive site, which in turn endows NUU-1 with the "0 + 1 > 1 ...

The reference-probe model for a robust and optimal radical-pair-based magnetic compass sensor

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2020
Radical-pair reactions have been suggested to be sensitive to the direction of weak magnetic fields, thereby providing a mechanism for the magnetic compass in animals. Discovering the general principles that make radical pairs particularly sensitive to the direction of weak magnetic fields will be essential for designing bioinspired compass sensors and

A Robust Pretravel Model for Touch Trigger Probes in Coordinate Metrology

Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, 1998
This paper describes a pretravel model for vertically-oriented touch trigger probes with straight styli widely used on coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Advances in machine accuracy and tighter part tolerances leave probe error as one of the major error sources in dimensional measurement processes.

Probing the robustness of the charge-charge transfer-dipolar polarization model and infrared intensities

Journal of Molecular Modeling, 2018
The robustness of the QTAIM charge-charge transfer-dipolar polarization parameters for the CH, CF, and CCl stretching and bending distortions of the fluoro- and chloromethanes was determined comparing results calculated at three quantum levels, MP2/6-311G++(3d,3p), QCISD/cc-pVTZ, and QCISD/aug-cc-pVTZ.

Probing the Robustness of Pre-trained Language Models for Structured and Unstructured Entity Matching

2023
The paradigm of fine-tuning Pre-trained Language Models (PLMs) has been successful in Entity Matching (EM). Many contemporary works leverage PLM-based models to push the state of the results. However, using the power of transformer-based models has some downsides in this task.

The Robustness of Models for Evaluating Patterns of DNA Multi-Locus Probes

1992
DNA multi-locus probe patterns clearly have the potential to be powerful evidence in clarifying issues of identity, paternity, or other questions of kinship. Unfortunately the evidence is difficult to quantify. Any computation rests on assumptions built into a mathematical model.

A robust xanthylium-based near-infrared fluorescent probe for viscosity imaging in inflammatory and hepatic injury mice models

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy
As the principal organ for the metabolism and detoxification of both exogenous and endogenous substances, the liver demonstrates heightened vulnerability to the onset of hepatic pathologies. Aberrant viscosity, acting as a potential biomarker, exhibits a significant correlation with liver diseases such as fatty liver, hepatic fibrosis, and liver injury.

Probing Adversarial Robustness of Protein Language Models: A Reproducible Case Study of ESM-2 Under Substitution-Based Attacks

AIUB Journal of Science and Engineering (AJSE)
We present a reproducible case study probing the adversarial robustness of ESM-2 (esm2 t6 8M UR50D), a representative protein language model, under substitution-based adversarial attacks, measuring pseudo-perplexity shift across eight benchmark protein sequences at mutation rates of 1%, 5%, and 10%.
