New Application of Abrasive Slurry Jet in Coal Rocks Breaking and Prediction Model of Its Rock Breaking Ability

Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, 2021
As a new tool of hard rock breaking, abrasive slurry jet (ASJ) is of great potential in tunneling and mining. Therefore, this paper presents a new system, shearer drum assisted by ASJ, to exploit thin seam with complex geology, in which coal rock will be broken by the coupled forces of ASJs and cutting picks.

High-prequency electrothermal rock breaking

Soviet Mining Science, 1968
1. Rocks of the second and fourth groups [above] are those most favorable for high-frequency electrothermal breakage. 2. To break rocks of the third group, it is necessary to build a plant with parameters enabling the generator to be matched with the load. 3.

Energy of rock breaking in percussive drilling

Soviet Mining Science, 1980
1. The volumetric rate of widening boreholes with the aid of pneumopercussive reamers is 2.5–4.0 times greater than the volumetric rate of drilling by the series-produced M48, MP-3, and M32K pneumatic drills; this is due both to the higher power of the reamers and to the different rock-fracture conditions (shape of face, geometry of bit ...

An investigation into rock breaking by direct impact

Mining Science and Technology, 1987
Abstract An empirical approach towards analysis of rock breaking under direct impact and laboratory conditions is suggested utilizing limestone and concrete blocks. Characteristics and mechanism of rupture in the test blocks are discussed. It is found that the effect of reflected shock waves is less significant than that of the stress relief in ...
