The aim of the study is to evaluate fluids circulation through the Chicxulub crater, and to determine the composition of hydrothermal fluids after the impact. Rock-Eval pyrolysis and fluid inclusion micro-thermometry analyses were performed. The technique has been routinely used for about fifteen years and has become a standard tool for hydrocarbon ...

Assessment of the hydrocarbon generation potential of rocks based on Rock-Eval pyrolysis
This work assesses the organic geochemical characteristics, hydrocarbon generation potential, and maturity level of kerogen in the source rocks of the Jurassic deposits at an oil field in the Emba area of the south-eastern Precaspian Basin. Rock-Eval 6 Turbo pyrolysis analysis was performed on seven core samples of Jurassic sediments collected from the

Rock-Eval pyrolysis discriminates soil macro-aggregates formed by plants and earthworms [PDF]
Abstract Plants and earthworms, as soil ecosystem engineers, play a crucial role during stabilisation of organic matter in soil through its incorporation into soil aggregates. It is therefore essential to better understand the mechanisms and interactions of soil engineering organisms regarding soil organic matter stabilisation.

Can Rock-Eval pyrolysis assess the biogeochemical composition of organic matter during peatification? [PDF]
Understanding the responses of soil organic carbon to an increase in global temperature is crucial to estimate potential feedbacks on global warming. In such a context, Rock-Eval pyrolysis has been recently proposed as a screening tool to investigate soil organic matter (SOM) chemistry and vulnerability. In order to test the validity of Rock-Eval as an

Rock-Eval Pyrolysis Results from the Bijeel 1 Well, Kurdistan Region, Iraq
We used Rock-Eval pyrolysis to examine the petroleum source potential of rock samples from the Bijeel 1 Well in Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq. The results show that Sargelu and Sehkaniyan marine Type IIS kerogen are potential sources of hydrocarbons and are thermally mature with respect to the oil window.

Infrared spectroscopy and chemometric modelling of organic carbon measured by Rock-Eval pyrolysis of UK shale rock [PDF]
Shale rock core from the Bowland Shale Formation, UK was analysed in the laboratory using Rock-Eval(6) pyrolysis and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). These methods are used to characterise the organic constituents of soil and rock.
