Uranium thorium and potassium contents analysis of rocks in Changwat Narathiwat by gamma spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2002
Quantitative analysis of three radioactive elements (potassium, equivalent uranium, and equivalent thorium) in the granite rocks of the Triassic Age at 24 locations in Narathiwat province was carried out by using a gamma counter.

Patterned ELR‐Gelatin Hydrogels Enable Rapid Endothelial Monolayer Formation via Bioactive Matrix Chemistry and Surface Topography

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐ and nano‐patterned elastin‐like recombinamer (ELR) hydrogels integrate bioactive matrix chemistry with defined surface topography. The combined cues promote rapid endothelial cell capture, alignment, and monolayer formation on soft substrates.

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Role of Liquid Composition in the Transient Liquid Assisted Growth of Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7‐δ Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

A death on the Rock

open access: yesBMJ, 1998
This is a tale of serendipity tinged with sadness and it spans some 55 years. Edwin Hutt, a 24 year old stoker in the Royal Navy, sustained fractures of both legs and other injuries when his ship was torpedoed in the Mediterranean in 1942. He was taken to the military hospital in Gibraltar where I was serving in the Royal Army Medical Corps as a graded

LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...
