The analysis of different partial wear degrees of cutter on the rock-breaking effect

open access: yesKSCE Journal of Civil Engineering
When the tunnel boring machine (TBM) is engaged in rock-breaking operations, the cutters are subject to wear due to the harsh underground environment.

Unit Experimental Study on Impact Crushing Rock of the Microcoring PDC Bit

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2019
In light of the situation of sliced or powdery cuttings produced by conventional PDC bit, it is found that they are not convenient for geological logging and stratification.

Halide Perovskite: A Rich Source of Thermal Insulator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Halide perovskites exhibit ultralow thermal conductivity driven by intrinsic lattice softness and strong anharmonicity, falling below conventional defect‐engineering limits. Weak metavalent bonding, A‐site rattling, and dynamic octahedral tilting drive phonon scattering to the Ioffe–Regel limit, where wave‐like tunneling replaces particle‐like ...

Relaxor Ferroelectricity Enables Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance in In2Se3‐Alloyed GeTe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A non‐equimolar In3+/Se2− alloying strategy creates Ge vacancies in GeTe, inducing relaxor ferroelectricity that broadens the low thermal conductivity window. Simultaneously, cubic phase stabilization broadens optimal electrical transport, achieving an average zT > 1.0 over 330–625 K.

Ion Superhighways in a Hierarchical Polymer‐Ceramic Membrane Enable Rapid and Selective Lithium Extraction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A flexible PDMS‐LATP polymer‐ceramic membrane creates lithium‐ion “superhighways” for rapid and selective extraction from complex brines. The amorphous PDMS matrix suppresses nonselective leakage and stabilizes the ceramic network, while LATP provides preferential Li+ conduction.

Study on Rock Breaking Characteristics of a Hybrid Bit

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
Existing conventional PDC and roller bits are unable to meet the rock breaking requirements in deep and hard formations, difficult-to-drill formations and soft and hard formations.

Sheet‐Size‐Dependent Mosaicity of 2D Phyllosilicate Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores how the size of 2D vermiculite sheets affects the structure of laminar membranes. High‐resolution x‐ray diffraction reveals how sheet size governs structural disorder and crystallinity. These changes directly impact ion permeability.

The Vibration Response to the High-Pressure Gas Expansion Method: A Case Study of a Hard Rock Tunnel in China

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The vibration of rock breaking in tunnel excavation may cause serious damage to nearby buildings if it is not controlled properly. With reference to a hard rock tunnel in China, the vibration response to the high-pressure gas expansion method (HPGEM), an
