Studies of a three-stage dark matter and neutrino observatory based on multi-ton combinations of liquid xenon and liquid argon detectors [PDF]
We study a three stage dark matter and neutrino observatory based on multi-ton two-phase liquid Xe and Ar detectors with sufficiently low backgrounds to be sensitive to WIMP dark matter interaction cross sections down to 10E-47 cm^2, and to provide both ...

The rockburst risk prediction based on microseismic (MS) data is an important research task in deep mine safety prevention. However, the lack of systematic research on explicit prediction indexes and the waste of a large amount of unlabeled data are ...

Shattering Rock with Intense Bursts of Energetic Electrons [PDF]
It has been successfully demonstrated that intense bursts of energetic electrons cause significant rock spalling for modest energy inputs. The corresponding temperature rise per pulse in the bombarded volume of rock is only ~ 200° C, or so. Some analytical predictions and experimental evidence of this novel accelerator application are presented.

Upward Tau Air Showers from Earth
We estimate the rate of observable Horizontal and Upward Tau Air-Showers (HORTAUs, UPTAUS) considering both the Earth opacity and the finite size of the terrestrial atmosphere.

Ultrasonic and CT scanning analysis of coal-rock mass under the primary bedding structure
In order to study the influence of the primary bedding structure on wave velocity and mechanical properties of coal-rock mass, multilayer and multi-directional ultrasonic and CT scanning tests were carried out in laboratory.

Analysis of rock burst accidents in coal mine based on behavioral safety
In order to study the behavioral causes of coal mine rock burst accidents, 24Model was applied to analyze the unsafe acts and physical causes of 10 typical rock burst accidents occurred after 2011.

Predicting Rock Bursts in Rock Mass Blocks Using Acoustic Emission
Geophysical methods for local rock burst prediction are currently being developed along two lines: improving recording equipment and improving data processing methods. Progress in developing processing methods is constrained by the lack of informative prognostic models that describe the condition of rock mass, the process of rock mass fracturing, and ...
