Damage Characteristics and Stress Distribution Law of Overburden Rock in Multiple Mining of Close Coal Seams

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study on close coal seams shows that multi‐seam mining increases the height of the fractured zone from approximately 26 m (single upper‐seam mining) to about 49 m. When the lower seam is mined after the extraction of the upper seam, the heights of both the caved zone and the fractured zone increase by approximately two times.

Study on Fluid Pressure in Tubing, Dynamic Stress in Reservoir, and Fracture Propagation Morphology During Variable‐Rate Hydraulic Fracturing

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Variable‐rate hydraulic fracturing can induce unsteady flow in the tubing, thereby generating fluctuating fluid pressure near the bottom‐hole reservoir. Dynamic stress is generated in the reservoir under the action of fluctuating fluid pressure and propagates as stress waves.

Post‐Stimulation Hydraulic Response and Productivity Constraints of a Low‐Productivity Carbonate Geothermal Well in the Small Intramontane Basin, Beijing Piedmont, North China

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Formed ~1.4 Ga, the carbonate reservoir of the Jixian System is a key geothermal reservoir in northern China. Differential basin–mountain evolution since the Cenozoic led to distinct reservoir‐forming histories; consequently, this same reservoir shows marked productivity contrasts between intramontane basins and the large rift Bohai Bay Basin ...

The matrilineal Turn: Wiradjuri matrilineal leadership, colonial disruption, and the work of cultural return

open access: yesFeminist Anthropology, EarlyView.
Abstract This article advances three claims regarding the matrilineal organization of Wiradjuri society in central New South Wales. Drawing on the late nineteenth and early twentieth century ethnographic record, it demonstrates that Wiradjuri descent, totem, moiety identity, and ceremonial authority were and are matrilineally organized, despite ...

Revisiting International Student Mobility Under New Geopolitics: Stratification, Conditionality, and Uncertainty

open access: yesFuture in Educational Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the 21st century, the governance of international student mobility has undergone a fundamental transformation, driven primarily by securitization, geoeconomic competition, and domestic political pressures that conventional market‐based frameworks such as the push‐pull model and human capital theory cannot adequately explain.

Multiphase Tectonic Process With Slab Dynamics in the Northern East China Sea Shelf Basin

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Megasequence 1 characterised by Palaeocene extension and differential subsidence driven by the rollback of the subducting Izanagi Plate. Megasequence 2 records a kinematic reorganisation of the East Asian margin, transition from a rifting to a compressional regime.

Seismic Sequence Stratigraphy Applied to Reservoir Recognition and Evolution on Marine Carbonatic Ramp—Macaé Group (Albian to Cenomanian) of Campos Basin

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
A classic oil producing interval of the Campos Basin—Macaé Group is revisited through seismic stratigraphic analysis, providing a stratigraphic framework, characteristic depositional and relative time positioning for several complex structural settings.

Geochemistry and Geochronology of Magmatic Rocks in Southwestern and Northeastern Cambodia: Implications for the Tectonic Evolution and Metallogenesis of the Loei Fold Belt

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
The composition of intrusive rocks suggests that the magma was likely generated in a subduction‐related setting. The arc crustal thickness in the Phnom Sro Ngam and Halo Prospects was probably < 40 km during emplacement. Zircon U–Pb age range indicates a correlation with Loei Fold Belt magmatic activity.

Characteristics of Gravity Flow Deposits in the Benin Basin (Benin) and Implications for Oil and Gas Exploration

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the underexplored Benin Basin features a narrow shelf and steep slope, which promoted the development of multi‐phase, stacked channel‐lobe complexes. These gravity flow deposits, further enhanced by bottom current reworking, reveal a significant undiscovered Upper Cretaceous stratigraphic play with considerable petroleum ...

Urinary and Faecal Amino‐Acids as Biomarkers for Colorectal Neoplasia in Lynch Syndrome—A Prospective Longitudinal Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In Lynch syndrome, colonoscopy surveillance for colorectal cancer (CRC) is burdensome and post‐colonoscopy CRCs still occur. Unlike the faecal immunochemical test (FIT), gut metabolomic alterations including amino‐acids have shown potential as non‐invasive biomarkers for detecting both advanced and non‐advanced sporadic colorectal neoplasia ...
