ABSTRACT Complex relative sea‐level (RSL) changes are associated with the deglaciation of the British and Irish Ice Sheet (BIIS). Sediment archives from Loch Bad na h‐Achlaise, an isolation basin in NW Scotland, UK, span Late Glacial to Holocene time and record sea‐level change and ice proximity via a geochemical and biostratigraphic multiproxy ...

Rocks Glaciers in Geyik Dağı Area, Central Taurus
Various glacial features are widespread in Geyik Dağı area, Central Taurus. Moderately wellpreserved glacial troughs, moraines, rock glaciers and many empty cirques occur over a large area above 2050 meters altitude.

ABSTRACT The second half of the Allerød interstadial in the Netherlands is characterised by pine forest. Excavated trunks of 165 pine trees at Leusden‐Den Treek in the central Netherlands (LETR16) were dated by dendrochronology and radiocarbon. Two chronologically separated pine forest phases occurred during relatively warm periods as recorded in ...

Rock glaciers in the Western and High Tatra Mountains, Western Carpathians
A detailed map of rock glaciers at a scale of 1 : 40 000 is produced for the Western and High Tatra Mts., Western Carpathians, based on remotely sensed mapping. We inventoried a total of 383 rock glaciers, covering a total area of 13.84 km2.

ABSTRACT This paper examines regional and chronological variations in Acheulean handaxe morphology during Marine Isotope Stage 11 (c. 425–365 ka BP) in Britain. Using a data set of 737 handaxes from 13 securely dated sites in East Anglia and the Thames Valley, we apply three‐dimensional geometric morphometric analysis to examine morphological ...

ABSTRACT Permafrost is rapidly degrading in the sporadic zone, including palsa mires in Scandinavia. Peatlands in the area have likely accumulated heavy metals from atmospheric deposition of industrial contaminants in the wider region. As the palsa mire chemical composition is not well known, and in other permafrost regions the permafrost thaw may ...

Discriminating viscous-creep features (rock glaciers) in mountain permafrost from debris-covered glaciers – a commented test at the Gruben and Yerba Loca sites, Swiss Alps and Chilean Andes [PDF]
Viscous-flow features in perennially frozen talus/debris called rock glaciers are being systematically inventoried as part of the global climate-related monitoring of mountain permafrost.

Understanding the ecological implications of species coexistence is central to biodiversity studies and to identify environmental and anthropogenic drivers of ecosystem dynamics, where ecological network analysis offers valuable insights. This study examines the complexity, structure, and potential responses to disturbances of the Strait of Magellan's ...
