Facet‐Specific PbS Quantum Dot Passivation Using Halide Perovskites for SWIR Photodetectors
PbS quantum dots (QDs) are emerging as powerful short‐wave infrared photodetectors, yet the passivation mechanism of large QDs by perovskites ‐ critical for their stability ‐ remains unexplained. Here, we unveil the ligand structure of CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPI)‐passivated 4‐nm PbS QDs using FTIR, XPS, SEM, NMR, and DFT.

Investigation into the rock mass response to pillar extraction in a hard rock tabular mine
Historically, secondary pillar extraction has been successful in the soft rock mining environment. Several hard rock platinum mines have conducted selective remnant extraction with backfill as a regional support measure. A hard rock tabular platinum mine

Geophysical characterization of an unstable rock mass [PDF]
A pre-requisite in rock mass stability analysis is to obtain the internal structure and the mechanical properties of the investigated rock mass with a reasonable degree of uncertainty.

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Milled polycrystalline NMC811 cathode (MPC NMC) with smaller secondary particle and higher surface area had 1) greater cathode tortuosity, 2) reduced surface Ni on the cycled MPC cathodes consistent with surface reconstruction, and 3) increased Ni deposition from cathode‐anode crosstalk, manifesting in lower functional capacity and higher impedance ...

Documenting rock mass failure with UAV during an emergency phase: Castell de Mur case study
The understanding of the conditioning factors and of the mechanisms involved in rockfalls are requirements for a successful risk assessment and for the prevention of future events.

, 2023Strain measurements in underground excavation are usually done locally, with extensometers or similar devices placed within 10-15 meters of adit or stope faces, mainly to gage development of the EDZ (excavation damaged zone) and assess its ...
