This multicenter retrospective study analyzes real‐world management of acute cholecystitis in patients aged ≥ 70 years across five institutions, focusing on adherence and intentional deviation from TG18 recommendations. By classifying treatment strategies as TG18‐accordant, more aggressive, or more conservative, we reappraise current practice patterns.

Emergency cholecystectomy was evaluated in patients with acute cholecystitis classified as non‐recommended for surgery by the Tokyo Guidelines 2018. Major postoperative complications, rather than mortality, better reflected operative risk. Physiological instability, particularly ASA‐PS ≥ 3 and shock status, identified high‐risk patients, suggesting ...

An overview of excavatability classification for bedded and non bedded rock in a tropical region
Surface excavation works in tropically weathered rock are often reported to be challenging due to too many uncertainties such as rock mass and rock properties, environment, selection of the best excavation method, machine characteristics, cost and ...

Optimizing 3D Bin Packing of Heterogeneous Objects Using Continuous Transformations in SE(3)
This article presents a method for solving the three‐dimensional bin packing problem for heterogeneous objects using continuous rigid‐body transformations in SE(3). A heuristic optimization framework combines signed‐distance functions, neural network approximations, point‐cloud bin modeling, and physics simulation to ensure feasibility and stability ...

A novel proposed classification system for rock slope stability assessment
The present study introduces “rock slope instability score (RSIS)” a novel classification system for assessing rock slope stability. It takes into account geological and geotechnical parameters, as well as the impact of human activities and triggering ...

Lost in aggregation? On the importance of local food price data for food poverty estimates
Abstract This paper explores within‐country variations in food price dynamics and food poverty estimates by employing local market price data and national consumer price index (CPI) data. Our results show that national CPI data may be useful for approximating national trends but they fail to detect and identify spatial variations in local trends, which
