High‐elevation endemic plants predicted to lose habitat from changing climate in Washington State

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise High‐elevation plants face unique challenges from potential climate change impacts that will likely require upslope migration into increasingly smaller suitable habitat. This situation is particularly acute for endemic species that by definition occupy small geographic ranges.

Leaching of boron, arsenic and selenium from sedimentary rocks: I. Effects of contact time, mixing speed and liquid-to-solid ratio

Science of The Total Environment, 2014
Sedimentary rocks of marine origin excavated in tunnel projects were recently identified as potentially hazardous because they could release significant amounts of toxic trace elements when exposed to the environment. This study investigated the leaching characteristics of B, As, Se and the major coexisting ions under various conditions to identify the

Biodiversity and Rock Exposure Ratio Jointly Affected the Ecosystem Multifunctionality of Karst Evergreen and Deciduous Broad‐Leaved Mixed Forest

Land Degradation & Development
ABSTRACTAs the climax community of karst in southwest China without human disturbance, the mechanisms through which biodiversity maintains ecosystem multifunctionality (EMF) in evergreen and deciduous broad‐leaved mixed forest are still unclear. This study employed structural equation modeling to analyze the correlations between EMF and three key ...
