Electroluminescence of rock salt
Soviet Physics Journal, 1970The basic experimental results found in studies of the emission of thin single-crystal layers of rock salt in superhigh electric fields are classified and analyzed. The emission is shown to come from the salt layer and to be due to electronic processes in this dielectric.

Sergeant Charles Royal Blackwood, III, after surviving three tours in Vietnam and the loss of his right arm, has returned stateside to his small Florida town on Lake Sybelia. Flashbacks of the war are constant, and yet, Royal tries to move forward with the knowledge of who he once was and who he has become.

The Journal of Geology, 1965
The effects of temperature to 300° C, confining pressure to 1 kilobar, stress difference to 138 bars, and increased grain size on the creep behavior of rock salt were investigated. The creep tests were carried out on artificial polycrystalline rock-salt specimens and on one single crystal.

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1968
Abstract Triaxial tests on various salt rocks were conducted, and Mohr's envelope of stress determined, as a preliminary measure before determining the necessary dimensions of pillars in salt mines and assessing the liability of the salt to possible rockburst.

Permeability measurements of rock salt
Journal of Geophysical Research, 1961A method is described for measuring the permeability of rock salt. Different specimens of salt were studied, and the technique was checked by use of a solid crystal of sodium chloride. Both reactive and nonreactive fluids were used in collecting permeability data. Permeability tests were run on rock salt from both dome and bedded formations.
