Prediction of Rockburst Risk in Coal Mines Based on a Locally Weighted C4.5 Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Rockburst is a dynamic phenomenon characterized by the sudden, abrupt, and violent release of deformation energy in coal and rock masses around mine shafts and slopes that can result in considerable destruction.

Analysis of post-blasting source mechanisms of mining-induced seismic events in Rudna copper mine, Poland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The exploitation of georesources by underground mining can be responsible for seismic activity in areas considered aseismic. Since strong seismic events are connected with rockburst hazard, it is a continuous requirement to reduce seismic risk.

Interpretable Tree‐Based Models for Predicting Short‐Term Rockburst Risk Considering Multiple Factors

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Interpretable tree‐based models integrate microseismic, geological, and mining indicators to predict short‐term rockburst risk. SHAP analysis reveals the dominant role of energy‐related features and clarifies nonlinear factor interactions, enabling transparent and reliable early‐warning in deep coal mines.

Precursor Information Recognition of Rockburst in the Coal-Rock Mass of Meizoseismal Area Based on Multiplex Microseismic Information Fusion and Its Application: A Case Study of Wudong Coal Mine

open access: yesLithosphere, 2022
In recent years, the rockburst induced by steeply inclined coal seam mining in the Urumqi mining area has become serious. In this paper, the evolution law of multiplex microseismic information before and after the rockburst is obtained through in-depth ...

Prevention of rock burst by protective seam mining in high-depth strata: a case study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Several rock burst accidents occurred during the excavation of the 4th seam in a mine. Based on the geological and mining conditions of the mine, numerical simulation methods was adopted to analysis the protective effect of the upper and lower protective

Landslide Activity in the European Alps ‐ Part 1: A Machine Learning Based Instrumental Catalog From the Analysis of Seismological Data

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Landslides in the European Alps are a growing concern in the context of climate change. However, landslide catalogs for the European Alps remain incomplete, often lacking precise timing and containing few, if any, entries for remote areas.

Stress analysis of crack characteristic of anthracite under dynamic loading

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, Volume 5, Issue 1, Page 56-65, March 2026.
In this article, the dynamic compression test of anthracite under five strain rates is carried out, the evolution law of three kinds of crack characteristic stress is analyzed, and a prediction model of the crack characteristic stress threshold considering the strain rate effect is established. Then, the rationality of crack characteristic stress under

Construction and Application of Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Model for Rockburst Based on Microseismic Monitoring

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Based on the relationship between rockburst and microseismic event indicators, this study proposes that the risk of rockburst in mine working faces, roadways, and even the entire mine should be studied through the “double high” risk evaluation of ...

Experimental study on compound dynamic disaster in deep coal rock under gas and stress loading and unloading [PDF]

open access: yes
To explore the occurrence mechanism of compound dynamic disasters in coal rocks, this study conducted a true triaxial test simulating gas extraction and stress loading and unloading conditions. To differentiate behaviors among disaster types, the effects
