Compression‐Expansion: Miniaturization, Modularity, and Logistics Beyond Earth
ABSTRACT If the Cold War space race culminated in a return to Earth, at present we are experiencing a renewed interest in space. Drawing on fieldwork among people working in the space sector in Sweden, this article focuses on some of the imaginaries underpinning this resurgence and the contemporary commercialization of space. Specifically, I hone in on

Study: Algorithms for rocket engine thermochemistry
This thesis compiles the process of upgrading two libraries (INIST and HGS) which provide to their users the thermodynamics properties and algorithms needed to analyse liquid rocket engine feed cycles. First, the Thermodynamic theory for real fluids, ideal fluids and mixtures is reviewed, as well as the algorithms and tools that the libraries implement.

The secret language of peers: How peer behaviours signal mindset and influence classroom experiences
Abstract Background Extending recent work on mindset contexts, researchers have explored how peer mindsets relate to students' outcomes in the classroom. However, little is known about the specific behaviours that signal peer mindsets to students, and prior work has used correlational methods.

Evaluating Investment in Space Programs: A Case for Theoretical Pluralism
ABSTRACT A perennial question repeatedly asked since the early Mercury (USA) and Salyut (then Soviet Union) space programs has been variations on the theme of “how can the cost of space exploration be justified?” This question—which in broad terms constitutes the research question considered in this paper—continues to be directed toward space agencies ...
